Hello tricia2674,

I am glad you were able to see this as a scam. These scammers are not in the US or Afghanistan. The Sgt. and Commander are more than likely the same person.

No one has to pay for a Military person to make a phone call or pay for any leave / travel.

Please post all the email addresses you have for Sgt. and Commander. Also post pictures if you have some. You can find a link in my signature for help.

Do not tell the scammer he is posted here. We want people to be able to google and find a scammer.

You can even email me and I will assist you.

Bryon

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Welcome Tricia,

Just to clarify Bryon's points a bit further: At no point have you been in contact with an American soldier, or anybody who is connected with the US military in any way.

The scammer is a young African man. Most likely, he has never even been in or even near the United States. As Bryon said, it is probably the same person who is playing both the Sgt. and the Commander. The scammer has stolen photos of a real soldier, most likely from the real soldier's social networking page (e.g. myspace or facebook) or from a news story. Sometimes these scammers even use photos of soldiers who were killed in action.

There are many scammers posing as soldiers on dating sites, and they all have one goal--to steal your money. The truth is, soldiers on active duty in war zones are NOT hanging out on dating sites, and they certainly don't have hours to spend chatting with strange women.
