Got an email today from mr Richard Shannon with this email address [email protected]

Subject was : Reply on your consent

The email was:

I have gone through your profile LinkedIn and I find out that you are
sharing the same last name with my late client. He has funds here
which are yet to be claimed but nobody has come up for the claim
because he has no relatives that are known by me, please let me know
if you can assist and stand in to make this claim since you have the
same last name. Waiting to hear from you.

For sure its a scam ! So I answered him from my Email address without my Family name and asked him to give him my family name

Lets see if he answers ??

This [email protected] . He has been waltzing me around for over one week. I give him credit, even when you insult him, he puts positive spin on it and continues on. Have gotten people like him to actual physical locations where the authorities could take them into custody. However, neither local or Federal authorities have had any interest. I will not name, names where law enforcement is concerned. For you can't cheat an honest man.
Who ever it is that is sending the emails. It is educational listening and interesting reading, humorous.
Have honest but covert plan of my own to turn the tables on them. Caring for the family has taken priority over that for the time being.

While I sometimes bait and toy w/ the scammers for sport (often just to see how far they will go), if you're trying to "turn the tables on them," you're just wasting time that could be put to better use--in your case, "caring for the family" would seem like a better way to spend your time. Depending on what you've cooked up, you might end up getting yourself into a jam. Is it really worth it?

It's one thing to toy w/ the spammers via the anonymity of email, but beyond that, my advice is always the same: LET IT GO! These folks are far more skilled than you and do this for a living. When you know it's a scam--or even suspect it--just walk away.
