As far as I have been able to discern, this lot has been pinching ads from Foxtons Estate Agent and posting them in today's London Craigslist. Somehow, in my heart of hearts, I don't think I would be choosing them as a letting agent.

Thanks for that.
One year registration, free Gmail address, no landline phone numbers, and a company registration number that belongs to a 7 year old Lancashire travel agent.
Definitely a scam.

They're popping up like mushrooms in cow pies after a good rain. :)

I spoke to the man who is running this site, the first thing he asked was "what country are you in", when I said USA he said "good".

He gave me an incorrect address for the flat (supposedly 2 bed in Nottinghill) via email and when I called he refused to give me the address until I had bank transferred the deposit. He said I would receive a "confirmation notice" which would have the street address on it and would serve as my reservation and means of entering the flat.

The price for the 2 bed was already far below other legit sites/estate agents, and they gave me a 300 GBP discount for a one month stay in Feb. (too good to be true)

He said he was in Brixton but was clearly African, his English was not good and he kept saying that if I didn't want to rent from them then I could go somewhere else...

This site is clearly a scam site and needs to be taken down by ASA/Trading Standards.

Hi Daveo

Welcome to Scamwarners

Thank you for this information.

We do have other more effective ways of dealing with fake sites which is very inconvenient for these scammers however it does not stop them from opening a new site.

On the 'comfortable homes' site I seem to remember that it quoted a company number (4588973) which is the same Registration Number for 'worldviewlimited.com'.

I did write to 'Worldview' sometime ago for some kind of comment but I haven't received a reply.

I have now contacted UK Consumer Direct to see if they can throw some light on this matter.

Brixton is an area of London with a large multicultural population.

Hi there I am new to this site but hope that I can be of help to others. I work in the hospitality/accommodation industry in London and have seen many scam websites turning up and stealing legitimate company's address, registration number et. I have taken down about 5 scam websites now but they keep appearing. Here are some scam websites to avoid!

Funnily enough as I am writing this post I have found out that the company (who are legitimate) who host these sites have taken them down already. I did contact the company early this week to let them know about the scam websites.

Welcome to scamwarners.com Binhtouk

I see that both sites are no longer with us. However, when they were, they both had telephone contact numbers starting '+44 (0)70'

These numbers are the chosen favourite of scammers. They look like regular UK numbers but they are, in fact, 'follow me anywhere numbers' that can divert to almost anywhere in the world.

Out of interest, what alerted you to the fake sites in the first place ?

Thank you for reporting.
