FB Scammer - Chris Benson from Amerillo Texas

As the posting below indicates, the scammer is in Nigeria and is most likely to be of West African origin, using other people's names in order to steal money. - CW

Just to give you all the heads up this guy is a real scammer- the photo he is using is from an Australian Actors site called Chris Scott.

We got talking on FB and moved to Yahoo messenger he sent me a few photos and not was he nice looking - and you guessed it he was on contract in Lagos Nigeria and he wanted money... Money for hotels bills, air flights to Abuja to sign contrast etc I was scammed out of £1500.

It took my 16 year old son to reverse check his pictures on google and that's when we found out he was a scammer.

He even sent me a photocopy of his passport under the name of Christian Sanchez Benson from Texas it was a good fake as I also checked that online.

He states he has a daughter that lives with his sister in Germany , Berlin called Rosé Benson and is sister is called Teressa- I could not verify any of these facts although eventually he said he allowed his daughter to have a FB page at 14 but the friends that she had had all only just been created as well.

Rosé Benson is also on FB so beware as I had emails from her as well.

Could you post the emails and the images (fakemarked)? Often people search for phrases in scam emails.

Thanks for the heads up! I will block this email addresses in my FB account. It's so sad that more and more people are becoming victims of scammers.

There are many legitimate people with the name Chris Benson. Whitepages alone shows 19 in Texas.
But clearly one who is using photos of an Australian actor and asking for money to be sent to Nigeria is not legitimate.

There are a lot of profiles on FB under the names Chris Benson and Rose Benson. If you still have a link to either FB profile, could you please post them here?

If you could post the fake passport, that would be helpful too. There are instructions for posting images in my signature line. It is important they be marked so that they cannot be picked up and re-used by other scammers.

My Mother has also been scammed by a Chris Benson, it has completely torn our family apart.
This Chris Benson claims he works for / owns the oil company Axxon Oil, and was working in Nigeria for them at the time he met my Mother on Tagged.com. He was then in a Taxi accident and doctors were calling my Mother constantly for her to send them money for medical treatment (from his mobile). He since has been telling my Mother for the past 11 Months that the embassy has his passport and will not give it to him, and he needs money for hotels, food, medical treatment etc.
I know he is based in Lagos, Nigeria, I also have the address from where he collected money my Mother had sent him, as well as his phone number.

Candy you should go back to pigbusters/You'reit and remove your email address because it is not sensible to give it. You will be inundated with scammers and spam. The Chinese bots will find you. You will get your information here from experts.
[email protected] was used to make the fake Tagged profile below and I saved the Yahoo avatar too.
I know victims from Tagged will be here to read this post because I have had questions about the warnings put on the profile.

It isnt possible to post informed comments on pigbusters site as it is here. I don't pull down Jeff's style in anyway but this is a better medium for answering and publishing visible photos. You are more likely to get the informed help from the many experts on this site, including me, that you ask for. If you leave an email address visible you compromise your safety and lay self open to more scammers, recovery scams, and a whole load of nasties you will get sick of, and that 's the brief explanation. I try to put valid info here to help you, as a result of searching around, and I have the tools to do it reasonably easily. I appreciate you set it up for the purpose but you would have been safer to have used gmail which strips the IP number off if you respond back to anyone. I am not sure what you want to know aside from what is here. However I assure you this person your mother has encountered is an African criminal and seasoned liar. He has no resemblance to the person in the photos and only exists in the imagination of the scammers mind, and in the mind of those he seeks to entrap and steal from. Because this post is easily visible you are able to easily show your mother and she is able to come back and see it for herself. However she must not confront the scammer and tell him about this posting because it may make him a better scammer, and he will hide more effectively the next time.
