Au-pair Scam

In November 2009 I got an e-mail from au-pair scam, but in this time I never heard about the scams and it all was cheat. So here are some e-mails and contacts.

Hello Aupair,

My name is Jerry Williams and my wife is Annabel Williams . We live in the United States Of America (USA). We live in a very big city in Los Angeles California . We would like to invite you overhere to be a babysitter of our daughter Jane. She is 3 years old,her hobbies are swimming,reading,listening to music,long walk talking, playing video games,playing the piano,watching wrestling,visiting museum center,visiting cinema houses,going to the beach etc.

Your duties will be to take Jane to and back from school, cook her meal,dry-clean her dirty clothes and teach her good things about life.

Your working hour per day will be about 5 to 6 hours which is approximately 25 to 30 hours every week .

There will be a comfortable accommodation for you with 24 hours free internet assess .

You will also be provided with a private car for your personal use .

Your working time will be from Monday to Friday, while Saturday and Sunday will always be your off day from work .

Your salary will be $2100 Monthly and $100 weekly pocket allowance .

//They wanted for single entry - visa for one year - 1 900 American dollars, and the family said that will pay 300 dollars so I will pay only 1 500 american dollars... and than the agency wanted 750 british pounds for health insurance and 750 british pounds for the sending documents... it is unbelieveable... and when I said: NO! Mr. "Jerry Williams" called me from Nigerian telephone number: 002348022753968 and said: I am Jerry Williams and I am from California, LA and I could say everything he still saying this sentense... he didn't know the English...

If that's your real name in the emails, would you please edit those out? The last thing you need is more scammers contacting you!

And those are definitely scam emails. If you were coming to work in the USA from a different country, there's no way you would apply for a visa through a travel agency. Travel agencies don't issue visas. Also, I'm pretty sure you don't need a "work permit" to come work in the US.

One more thing - now that you know for sure this is a scam, please don't email him again. Just ignore any emails he may send you. Once he realizes you won't be sending him any money, he'll leave you alone.

Just wondering why some people doing this. Some people in other countries are honestly looking for a job to support their need and their family and yet they try to scam them.

Thanks for posting those emails. Yes, they come from (well known) scammers. We also wonder why people scam others like this. I am dealing with au pair scam victims, and i do get this same question several times. I guess they like to prey on people who are just looking for a good opportunity, hoping on a better future.
