South African Scammer Andrew Busby

Justin..I was contacted by an Andrew Busby who is supposedly 48, lives in San Diego and is from South Africa...he has a very unusual accent, not at all from South Africa..says he has travelled all over the world...lived in Scotland 6 years..says he is a geophysicist who studied and got his BS and MS in Geophysics at Oxford University..he specifically wrote that he is over the 150k mark (later telling me via phone he made 400k last year) and desires to meet a woman over 100k but then when we got on the phone..he kept saying that I never had to worry about anything...he would take care of everything.. but it was weird that he says he wants a 100k over gal and then wants to take care of someone..he was in San Diego..we were gonna meet and then he had to fly to El Paso , Texas to be on a vessel. I did get calls from a 214 Texas number. Then he was going to fly back to San Diego and stop in LA and stay at a nice hotel like the Loews and he had to go to Scotland to pick up some crude oil as he is starting his own business....this has been a month now that we are in contact..he says he loves me and wants to marry me..all very fast and of course my shit meter is on...he has sent me poems from the internet and never references the author..like he writes them himself...he said he was leaving Scotland to return to California and visit me in LA and then go to San Diego..this is the 3rd attempt and he gets supposedly held up by Aberdeen authorities for a tax of 330k on his crude oil..so it comes out later that he invested supposedly over 6 million dollars, his whole life savings, into this project and is stuck in Aberdeen trying to raise this money..as a joke, I told him I should liquidate some money and give it to him just to see what he would say..he basically said...oh no, I could never take money from you, I could never live with myself, the whole story is so crazy and I told him I felt this was a very odd way to conduct business..why would he put his supposed life savings on the line..he said he was very embarrased and naive and if I was in his life due to my biz experience I could help him, yadee yadee...he brought up staying with a couple named Franklin and Rachel in Aberdeen as he knows them, he calls me a lot and seems to be on a different time zone where he is 8 hours ahead. He said he has a friend named Austin in London who has invested with him. He managed to get the 330 down to 230 from an Aberdeen biz atty. I asked him how he could not know about these taxes when he is in the field...how could he not prepare for this..he just said the taxes were never adhered to and the regulations are more stringent...he said he was going to Scotland as that is where the Crude Oil was..he was planning to stay there until the vessel leaves so he could go back to Texas and sell the crude and make like double his money and then move to San Francisco and settle down as he has worked so hard and he now wants to make his personal life more important. He has exceptional command of English, very impressively articulate... but it is moving too fast and I do think he is going to ask me for money..but don't scammers not have the time to dilly dally and do all this courting and romancing....anyway, I cannot locate shit about him at all on the internet..says he was married 9 years and divorced 6 years ago...he has worked for Shell and other oil companies as a top geophysicist on this vessel, gets paid well, is a troubleshooter, figures out the issue and writes reports and does independant consulting...he goes by Andrew Busby..that is all I know about him...he says he was born April 1, 1964 in Johannesburg, South Africa. I asked him for his birthdate as I am having a vedic astrology reading and I wanted to see our potential compatibility...during one of our texts, and this is what made me think and turn emotionally in this direction of a scammer, he said that he did not want to get too comfortable discussing the details of his work situation and the money as he would then ask me for the remaining 80k and once again, he could not do that..a man does not take money from a woman, etc...I just ignored the reference and it has never been brought up again...he is very low key about being stuck there..at times he has cried on the phone and hyperventilated that he really feels embarrased and stupid and he cannot believe how arrogant and entitled he acted to put so much, his whole supposedly life savings on the line so he is a great actor too..but not great enough to win an Academy Award..but some naive woman, of the many he speaks to in a day, will fall for it and give him money. I have two phone numbers on him..one is a 209 land line which is in Modesto, CA..this is his supposed land line and the other is an 858 cell number that is either answered by him directly or goes into a google voice mail... Cell 858-790-8854 is his supposed cell number and he does have a 209 Modesto, CA number that is supposedly his home. Here is the Texas number he called me from out on the "vessel" (214) 935-8919 Three attempts to meet, 3 reasons he cannot meet. One time I did not think it was him I was talking to but then in the same second..he cleared his voice, I did not hear a change of persons or russling..but then it did sound like him...so not sure what to think...yes, of course, I could easily brush him aside...but he is intriguing and does have my interest now..I feel funny asking for his social security or any other info from him but I did tell him that he knows quite a bit more about me than I do about him...he did say his real name is Andrew Busby..he goes by Andrew and there is an MD by that name in San Diego..does not look like the pix he showed me..he then said he took his profile off Match.com as he wants to focus just on me and prefers I do not date other people which is weird when I have never even met the guy..so I am just going along, not too emotionally at all entangled...and still curious as to whether he is really in Aberdeen...so I asked Justin about it and he showed me how to find it from the header of one of the emails these scumbags send you..voila..he is in Nigeria...amazing! When I told him I had a gift for him to send to him, he cut off all ties with me and then went back onto Match.com..sounds like a real heart-stopping grief reaction to being in love and scorned eh? Of course not..onto victim number 2. Please let me know gals or anyone if someone like this contacts you..I will give you the username on Match.com is GreatKind92107. You can view his picture there. Your msg was an eye-opener to me. Recently, I was on a dating website and got hooked with a guy. I am a divorced lady. I was trying to browse to find suitable matches for me and I got his profile.
He really looked amazing and his innocent looks attracted me. I sent my accept request. Then, I obtained his phone number and started to chat on mobile since a month. Initially, he showed great interest to chat with me. He also sent me few emails with beautiful writings from the internet and also poems, without the reference author. I was so blind that for a day, I believed that he wrote the peom himself. Somehow, some doubt was raised coz, he wrote that he would "die" in case if he cannot have me. We have been chatting for a month and I wondered how a guy can write so much even without seeing me. So, that raised a slight doubt and when I googled the peom, I found the poem is from the internet. However, I did not want to hurt him, so continued to chat to him to see if he is genuine or not. Three weeks ago, he informed me that he is going to London to do some crude oil business viz, buy crude oil from London and bring it in a vessel and sell it in Texas. From his profile, it appeared that he lived in Plano, TX. He mentioned that he is an independent consultant and top big oil companies would hire him an he is making a grant of above $200K per annum. We exchanged pics an emails. He gradually started moving away and not responded properly. After too much pester from my side as why he is ignoring me, last week he stated that his vessel is put on stop action as he has to pay some taxes. As a friend, I asked him what is the amount, but he said he is a man and will take care of that issue. I totally trusted him and continued to send him messages to boost up his morale. However, he was not bothered to respond to my msgs. That is when, I had to send multiple msgs and ask him if there is anything that I could help him. Then, he immediately responded saying that he needs atleast $2000 to take care of hotel stay as he had one of his friend, who already helped him with $50K towards taxes. I was surprised to hear the small amount coz, he said that he was making above $200K and he is a US citizen. I really trusted him an was in the verge of arranging the money to send to him via Western Union. In the interim, my sixth sense (God) warned me that I should look up for his name and US address on internet. I could not find the address or his details on the internet.
That is when, I saw your posting on the forum an was shocked to read as most of the contents are matching with mine. Hence, decided that I will not send him money.
