Bear Share is a great program for downloading music. However they also have an instant message and messaging tool that you can use. I have been on there for less than a week and have already had about twelve (12) different scammers try to work there "trade".
You will have some girl contact you out of the blue, usually with a nice picture, and run through all the things they cover on this site. Single, never married, looking for a long term relationship... Blah, blah, blah.
What I have noticed is that all of them, without fail, want you to first meet them on Yahoo messenger. Just a guess, but I think it is because you can not copy and paste things off of Bear Share but you can off of Yahoo. And they always want your cell phone number so they can text you. Big question: We are in a chat right now, why would you want to text me?
This is what I do to confirm that it is a scam: A reverse ip address search. You get them to email you something. DO NOT OPEN THE EMAIL. Then go to the properties tab of the email they sent. You will see their ip address. Do a search on that ip address. You can do that at this site: http://ipaddress.com/reverse_ip/
So if they are claiming to be in Kansas, and the ip address pops up in Nigeria... I don't think we are in Kansas anymore Toto.
What to do from here, I have not decided. I am open to suggestions. Sadly, I have not found a way to contact and inform Bear Share.
