OMG! I can't believe I fell for this guy! Wish I had looked here before sending him $10,000!!!!

He says he is working on a pedestrian bridge in Spain and is having troubles getting the tax clearance to get his check. I am absolutely mortified that I fell for this!!! His ID on Match.com is [email protected].

Hi S and welcome to the forum. Wished it were happier times brought you here.
Do not be too harsh on yourself. I am not happy when others describe themselves as stupid, foolish etcetera because they are not. Scammers prey on the goodwill of decent honest folk whom have grown up to be good people. It's like a form of entrapment.
Are you able to publish a money request e-mail where the scammer actually asked for finances to be sent?
Afraid to say but if funds were wired by way of wu, moneygram and the like, you can kiss your money goodbye because no recourse is available to you.
I am sorry the fraudulent trickster wasted your time.
