we was contacted by a person calling himself Mr Kemal Mohmoh of a supposed company Solar Panels and Pure Chemicals of Nigeria. we had placed an add on a investment required web site.

after we had exchanged legal investment contracts we where told we needed a certificate from the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit so that the first part of the investment could be transferred to our company.

i was told that we would need to pay 300usd for this letter, a official looking certificate was issued, however the name on email was a hotmail account which should have warned us, but i was convinced that ok the payment was ok as it was only 300usd. when we got the certificate we where told by Mr Mohmoh that he needed a lawyer called Mark Williams to sign on the certificate so the bank would approve the transfer.

we where then told that Mr Mark Williams needed to take the certificate to the high court for authentication this would cost a further 2570 usd. at which point i finally understood that this was a scam and refused to pay any more to these people.
email address are mark williams <[email protected]>; and kemal mohmoh <[email protected]>;

don't be fooled like we very nearly was.

I spent my whole life in banking, most of it on the international side, and any document bearing the word 'Nigeria' was either a scam or a forgery. I'm only stating what I observed and I have nothing against Nigeria. Most Nigerian scammers are well aware the effect it has on people to divulge their location as being Nigeria and they'll usually go to great lengths to claim to be located elsewhere.

I doubt that things have changed very much since I retired, which is a shame, and whereas scammers exist all over the world, Nigeria is a word that immediately causes problems and concerns in any business deal.
