Hi. Did you get in touch with Gumtree. I did and they asked for more information like ad number. The same happened to me.

Hi nodrogke

Sorry to hear about your daughters loss. The email address used "[email protected]" is a mail.com free webmail account. Certainly not one associated with a legitimate business.

The Barclays account you mention has been reported for fraud and may be closed down to stop anyone else getting scammed

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter getting scammed nodrogke.

I regret to tell you that whenever you're being offered high value branded goods at large discount it's either a 'knock off' (counterfeit), damaged or a complete fraud. The manufacturers of large brand sought after goods don't allow their goods to be sold under the recommended price otherwise their dealers wouldn't sell them. I can point you to facebook pages offering to sell similar electronic goods to that your daughter bought at large discount. It's a complete fraud with the seller pretending to be a company but operating totally anonymously.

The manufacturers are busy enough chasing people selling the actual 'knock offs' to deal with these people and the police appear fairly uninterested in going after them and it's hard to identify who they are.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
