I received this message on Facebook in December 2012

Hi Darlene,
I was searching for an old high school mate while i came across your profile and it really caught my attention.I'm Paul Scott. I'm widowed and i live in Brunswick Georgia.I Lost my 6 few years ago.She died of cancer.
I will like to know more about you and i hope you don't mind?

I responded to this person via chat & left a message as to what he wanted...This was his reply...

Hi Darlene, Thank you for writing back.I'm so happy to read from you.I haven't been to Canada before.Now more about me. I am straight forward,honest to a fault and very easy to get along with.I have a great sense of humor and a very definite romantic side.I can cook and i'm pretty darn handy at fixing things.I am a gentlehearted man.I'm a Christian and i live in Brunswick,Georgisa.I am an oil Contractor,i build oil Reservoirs and i supply oil equipment.I did my last job in Scotland.I was born in Stockholm Sweden.This is my email [email protected] Hope you reply back sharing more about you.Sincerely,Paul

Something didn't seem right as I had almost been scammed a couple of times before but never on Facebook so I copied/pasted body of this letter & googled it...Bingo
it's a scam so ther're even on FB :=) almost got me

No one from Sweden, Georgia, or Scotland, would write like that. That is the writing of a West African. And there are lots of fake profiles on Facebook.
