I was contacted in February 2014 by e-mail by Sandra Miller <[email protected]> offering an advertisement in Discover Europe Magazine:

"Dear Sir / Madam,

It all looked very genuine, so I duly paid my money via PayPal. I chased the artwork for the ad which they had promised to produce several times during March to which they respnded that everything was on schedule. However, by April I had become suspicious so I contacted Paypal to try to get my money back. They conducted an investigation but have refused to refund my money.

"Sandra Miller" is no longer responding to my e-mails and the phone number on their website has been disconnected.

Any one else been caught by this? Anyone any ideas as to where else I can turn to try to get a refund?

The domain was only registered in February using a privacy service to hide the registrant's details, which should be a red flag.

Another similiarly fraudulent site is http://www.holiday-travel-magazine.com/

Both sites claim to be Quote:
Part of Media Travel Ltd a company registered in England & Wales. Company registration number 2548967

Media Travel Ltd does exist, but 2548967 is not their Reg No. - it belongs to another non-trading company. A legitimate business would not make this type of mistake.

It would appear that this scam takes advantage of the limited time that PayPal give to raise a dispute and they just delay you until you are outside of that time and then just ignore you.

Both sites are being reported to their hosts as fraudulent.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
