Could you post some earlier messages? The earlier they are, the more likely they are to be script, which other possible victims will be looking for.

These romance scams can be tough. If you got that far into emails with him I would have to guess that this scammer had played with your emotions substantially (hope this is not the case). The unfortunate fact is these scams are so damn heartless and the only term that comes to mind is unfortunately 'emotional rape.' This scammer sets out on a day to day basis to use people's emotions to hook them, manipulate them, use them, and once he has gotten all he can out of his victims.... discard them. They do nothing short of brainwashing for their 'job' and yes.... they call it a job or a game believe it or not. Pretty sick and twisted.

In short these scammers are amongst the most vicious out there. If you are a victim, as vonpaso says a good thing to do here is post up any and all information you have on them to help protect other victims. Their email addresses, phone numbers, any money transfer information they gave you, their initial emails with you, etc can all be important to victims who might be googling for an answer that could save them from a very unforgiving situation.

The most important thing here as well is getting this off your chest if you are a victim (especially long term). As mentioned above these scammers do nothing short of brainwashing and waking up to realize that it is a scam is a cold harsh reality check. Like I said, I hope you are not a victim but if you are please do use this forum to to not only expose these scammers but also as a sounding board. This is the place to do it and we are experts at listening too.
