I was selling a phone on eBay and a woman wanted to buy it. i hadnt heard from her for a few days but when i asked her about paying, she then asked me to send a money request on paypal. i thought this was a bit weird cause usually ebay sorts out all these transactions with paypal. so anyways, i sent the money request for £65. this was her reply:

Thanks for the payment request, I will continue with the payment right now via Paypal, Please i will like the item to be posted today because am buying this as a birthday gift for my partner studying abroad so that it will get to him before the date, That's why i requested for more pics and i will appreciate if the item is well wrap so that it will be presentable for the young man. I will include £30 as the postage cost. Thanks for your understanding
Jane (Mrs)

i thought this was a bit weird, as she was voluntarily sending me more money than i had asked for.
Then i received this email from 'Paypal':

So her eBay shipping address is in America, shes currently in Germany and she wants it to be sent to Nigeria? doesnt sound too legit to me.
I now keep getting loads of emails from this 'Paypal' email address that keeps telling me to prove that i have sent the package. All of these emails have several grammer mistakes and i know that thats not like Paypal.

Any time you get a message that PayPal is holding the money until you ship something or send the shipping fee by Western Union, it is a scam. The paragraph beginning "For security purposes" is in a Nigerian writing style. It was written by the scammer, not by PayPal.
