Unfortunately, I have discovered this forum too late, when I was already scammed (today), but if my experience someone finds useful, or if it saves somebody from being cheated - then it's not so desperate and pointless...If anyone has some good advice, because now that I know what this is about, I'm ready to keep playing this game, it can be fun, although 117 euros which it cost me are not quite so charming...
However, a lot of buy-sell actions, and donations too here in France are made by one site, quite popular, and, at least I thought so, quite sure. I found a contact of a lady interested to give her female 2-months old cat to someone who can give her home, love, you now how it goes...Even if I wasn't sure at all that she'll reply, I have contacted her and expressed my willingness to adopt her cat, if she is interested. She quickly answered, giving her name and address, explaining that she has changed her job and that right now she works in Benin (ex French colony in Africa), that she has no chance to take care of her cat as she travels a lot, that she's ready to pay the travel costs if I can ensure that I won't sell or torment the cat. She also promised that the cat will be delivered in 48 hours from the moment of giving the order to a company called stamex-intl (giving me the site and e-mail address of the company - later discovered that it probably doesn't exist at all).
And after couple days, she informed me that everything is ready, that she gave my address and number to a company which will transport the animal, that she has payed 550 euros for "repatriement", and that the only thing that is on my charge is 97 euros for changing documents (pedigree, passport and so on) on my name, so I can become the owner and so there's no problem for the animal to enter the France. Having in mind that all the time she was giving me the advice considering cat's food, brushing, bathing etc, I supposed that her greatest concern is to ensure the animal has good life. Wrong. And naive, yes...
Then the transportation agency comes...From this morning, they have called me more then 10 times, the number starting with +2299 which is definitely someone from Benin. However they have explained me the procedure, and of course - there was a Western Union request. Facing for the first time with such type of "cooperation", I accepted to pay this "symbolic" price for my future pet friend. Soon as I have finished the transfer (to M. OUNSOUGAN ALIYOU from Porto-Novo - he'll have to present his personal identification in order to take the money, which can, maybe, give me an opportunity to react), and gave the codes, I have became aware of how big fool he made me..I have verified the similar e-mails (it's officious that for the last few months hundreds of French have been cheated on the same way, by the man who, in my opinion, isn't extremely intelligent, although he has a nice scambait)...
So, he wants to continue the game, as he have already tonight contact me informing me that there's a problem on some border and that 135 euros need to be payed on the same account, which will be, of course, returned when the deliverer, and his faithful companion veterinarian, arrive to my modest home, bringing me this little "pack of fur"...Even if I made a complete fool of my self, I still have a decent sense of humor, so I promised to pay the fee, if they send me the guarantee, that I'lle get back this 135 euros..Oh, you should see the guarantee...
Having in mind that it's however very expensive international call (more than 1.5 euros/minute), I plan to prolong this game as much as I can, so I hope you can help me with some ideas...
Also, the fact that the man with this name actually exists (he does have to identify himself in order to access the money, and he's still waiting my next payment), maybe can be useful for something??
Hope that no one again will do the same, it wasn't quite amusing ....Not at all...But it doesn't mean it won't became..
