Hey everybody,

I got scammed about a month ago with bookitallinclusive as a fax scam, but I cancelled by credit card immediately after I realized I had been duped. Now it appears that the "merchant" contacted my credit card company and is attempting to dispute the claim. How should I go about this? Are they going to win?

Much appreciated,

Jacob

http://www.bookitallinclusive.com/about-us.html

I got faxed the scam at my work (Walmart Pharmacy). Unfortunately I did not save the fax, but the details of the fax was that I would get access to a 4-5 star resort for the price of 119/person with reduced air fair. I paid for 4 people got gave them the credit card information over the phone. They sent over an e-receipt through the mail. I didn't sign the e-receipt agreeing to the terms, but I'm thinking they voice recorded me. 1 hour after the charge was placed on my CC I immediately called my CC and told them that my CC was stolen. They voided the transaction and I thought everything was good. This all took place early September. Now I'm receiving a dispute from bookitallinclusive and I am worried because I've been reading that since the transaction was non-refundable, I may be screwed.

I don't know if I should try to bs to my CC that my CC was actually stolen or not... Debating on it... Sounds risky.

The website was registered with a telephone number that does not exist and the site has a fake security seal so the whole thing is bogus.
If you reported the card stolen in September it sounds like the fake travel company is trying to bully you into reinstating the payment.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

Hey thanks for response Mike, so when my CC contacts me I would just tell them the same story right? That my card was stolen and I never authorized the transaction. Should I mention to my CC (Citi) about their bogus website too?

Thanks!

Was your card actually stolen? If not, I wouldn't go lying to your card company, they don't tend to like things like that, particularly if the "merchant" can prove that it was you that placed the order.

You would be better off sticking to the facts and telling your card company that the merchant is a fraud and selling non-existent holidays etc. The website is also most likely illegal (not sure on US laws) as it has no physical contact details or details of who runs it. There is an ASTA logo at the bottom, but you can't check if they really are members as you don't know who they are.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Thanks for the response. No I actually did place the charge. I actually told my CC that I lost the card and that the charge was placed unauthorized by me.... I panicked at the time... They voided the charge. I authorized the transaction over the phone. I was foolish at the time. I guess I'll just try to provide a good argument on why I should get my money back.

I do appreciate all the feedback.

What tipped you off that it's a fraud, and then you called the CC company?

Don't tell the card company that the card is stolen; it is in your possession. If you see unauthorized charges on the statement, you can say that the number was stolen, but non that the card was.

The website bookitallinclusive.com is in the process of being reported for fraud.

Well what tipped me off was that the reviews from other people that I should have read before purchasing. I told my cc company about a month ago that I lost my cc and that I didn't know what the transaction that was on my account. They cancelled my entire card and issued me a new one. Now bookitallinclusive is filing a dispute with my CC to get their money back. I got an email saying that they will review all the information from the merchant and they will get in touch with me. Now I gotta decide how to get through it. The problem here is that they got all my info. DOB, credit card address, my phone number and everything. I think they might be able to make a compelling case that it was me who actually authorized the transaction. Not only that bit I do think the phone call was recorded. And that I understood it is no refundable. They sent a confirmation email saying the promo price and all that jazz. I've just read reviews of bait and switch tactics going on with additional fees and stuff adding on here and there.

I was thinking I could lie and said everything was phished from me... But man I could just also take this as a loss and just learn from it :/
by AlanJones Fri Oct 03, 2014 1:38 am
Why would you need to lie when you have a legitimate reason for the charge not being placed? If you start lying, your card provider will assume that you placed an order and then just "changed your mind" and will probably make the charge. They may also decide that they no longer want you as a customer and cancel your cards, perhaps even report you for fraud.

Just tell them the truth, that you placed the order and then found out it was a scam, so you rung them and cancelled it.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Well I haven't been contacted by my CC yet... But when they do, I'll tell them the truth. If they want to side with criminals, then so be it. I learned my lesson. I reported them to the BBB for whatever that's worth. What's "killing a site"?

"killing a site" is a term used to remove a website from being hosted so that particular site is no longer visible on the web.

additional note: its always best to tell the truth, no matter the outcome for you. Once labeled a liar, it stays with you forever, especially on credit documents.
