I had a funny feeling about this when we posted our first ad over a week ago, my husband recieved 2 responses from a guy in the military and then another guy on a ship. They wanted to buy the motorcycle but couldn't come see it. They wanted to have an agent come pick it up and they would use paypal to transferre the money. Today I re-posted our ad on another site and got a similar response. I am attaching our email/text conversation along with this person's name and email address as a warning to others.

Hi Connie,

Thanks for the Pics, I'm interested in your BIKE and I'm okay
with the asking price, would love to go ahead with the deal right away
because this meets my perfect search for time being now, I'm on duty
now, so coming to your residence for inspection won't be possible, so
you have to assure me that its in condition described. You may now
consider me a favorite buyer and if possible withdraw the posting from
the site immediately so that I can be rest assured that it is all
mine.

Like I said earlier, I'm very busy with my job, as I work as a
geophysical investigator and am currently in the mountain until
December 20th, so I will be paying you on line via my PayPal account
which is attached to my bank account because it is the only form of
payment that I have access to right now and also because of its good
security nature. If you are interested in selling it please provide me
with the following information:

1) Your full name
2) PayPal email address,
3) Address for pick up
4) Your personal mobile #

Kindly get back to me with the required for us to proceed,You will not
be responsible for the shipping as shipping agent will be coming over
to your address for the pick up after I have made the payment and you
have received the confirmation of Payment from PayPal. Do hope to read
from you.

Thanks Billy

Welcome to Scamwarners Connie,

If you have any additional questions about this scam please ask.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

don't deal with anyone who can not come see the bike in person for themselves. Only accept cash as the payment method, and since it is a bike, chances are good your insurance will not cover another driver if they take it for a "test drive", and crash it. Therefore let them start it, and if need be have you or your other part drive them on it.

Meet in a rather public place during daylight hours if a transaction comes close, not at your home ( for your own safety), but close to your house is OK.

Anyone that says they will buy something site unseen is trying to scam something out of you. Money, personal info, or possibly even installing malware on your PC by asking you to download files.

The scammer is obviously West African, and he sends fake PayPal messages and tells people to send money by Western Union or the like to the shipper, who is another character played by the same scammer.
