I decided to join match.com, I read up on the site and it was #1 according to all websites I visited. I meet someone within 24 hrs. I thought wow could it be this easy. No it is not. We Im on the website for about 30 minutes, didn't notice anything wrong, then he wanted to chat on yahoo. So I added him. He said he was originally from Austrialia, moved to Winston-Salem North Carolina then took a job in Nigeria building roads. OK, nothing wrong with that. His lingo didn't seem Aussie, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I think it was 5 days later, he popped it on me. I was livid. I think I shocked who ever was on the other end, I went from little Ms Mary to Mr Hyde in one breath. I turned on them big time. I was more mad at myself than anything. Of course they got no money from me, I reported him to the website even found him on myspace, which that website pulled. Match.com did nothing, I haven't been on that website in a while, but can you believe a month after that happen match.com matched me up with him, under a different profile name he was using. Here is what I have on him, I saved everything. And I have a whole folder full of scammers with pics. I will be uploading those also. Thanks for this wonderful website and I have learned some stuff also. I didn't know how to tell where IP addresses came from until now.

Sorry that I did, and thanks for posting the pictures, I was having trouble with that. Can you please tell me how I am suppose to do it. I have a file full of pics and emails to share. They think just because a person is on a social website they are desperate.

[email protected]

And no I did not send any money. Thanks again.

Hi anjilwings, welcome to Scamwarners.

You almost had those pictures right, the problem was that you had [url] tags instead of [img] tags, I have fixed it now, if you click the edit or quote button on your post now you will see how it looks, click the back button once you have looked enough otherwise you will edit your post or add a reply ;)

If you have any other questions please ask

Sites like the one you mention should almost have an automatic alarm or permanent warning that any request for money is a sure sign of a scammer, and maybe the screen should flash at mention of Western Union.

It's hard for people to start off on a site like that with their hard hat on, but that's what people should do, maybe by posting in their profile or on their message boxes that they will never ever make cash payments to anyone they talk to. That might at least discourage scammers from bothering you.

On this forum you can put a message on the bottom of your message box, as I have here, and a message that you won't ever pay money would be like pouring salt on a slug. The trouble is these sites don't like to admit that they have a scammer problem in the first place

Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer
