Sorry, i haven't read many topics, and i expect this has been put up many times, but I find it is a good idea to ask for the photo of the person, then check it with their ID photo. Be careful if you see them on webcam as Skype, i know for certain allows you to play videos as if they were live footage.
If you get their photo, go onto Google images. You can drag the photo into the search box. you then get results from where the photo actually came from. It's definite something is wrong if the photo is linked to a person with a different name. you also get to a scam warning website
