Yes, it is a scam. No legitimate government agency would ask for money to be sent via Western Union. Everything is a in an attempt to steal money from you.

Yes, it is a scam - the domain hmrcgroup.org was registered by the scammers a year ago, using a privacy service to hide their identity. It is not a legitimate UK Government website (they all end .gov.uk with nothing after it).

The best thing for your wife to do is just delete the email and not respond to them.

I also received one last Monday. They've sent me their Contract Terms Of Agreement and it's weird because there are no signatures in the contract and there are no online live interviews, just some pdf attachments. I'm very glad that I didn't reply immediately and did some verification. But the company is legit though. There are something missing in the address and the telephone number is different from the company's website.

The telephone number is a mobile phone, not something that a large company would be using as its main contact number.

Also, the domain hmrcgroup.icu is fake and not an official UK Government website. The domain was only registered about 3 months ago, by someone hiding their identity.
