I have also received an email from this organization with almost identical wording. I am disabled and need to work from home, so I am tempted to apply. Is it a scam? What should I do?

This is a standard scam, and one which would cost you money if you got involved and could get you into trouble with your police. They will send you counterfeit cheques and persuade you to convert them into cash through your bank account and send them the money before they are discovered by the bank. The bank charge the money back to your account and inform the police that you are involved in laundering counterfeit cheques. It's not a nice scam to get involved in.

You will notice that they don't mention what the actual job is that you are supposed to do.

No such job like this exists. The offer they are making is to steal your money, so they'll take you on if you reply.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK

For a start the email address this was addressed to, [email protected], is not even mine!
But notice the grammar and spelling mistakes. :yikes: While I'm no expert they were fairly obvious and no legitimate company would accept that. That got the old alarm bells ringing and made me sign up here! Judging by what
GomerPyle said, I'm betting this scam originates in Nigeria or somewhere.

Hi Moogle, welcome to Scamwarners.

Thank you for posting this new email address, it may well be the piece of information that saves the next person from this scammer.

Going by odds alone, I am fairly confident the scammer is from Nigeria

Hi Skullian, welcome to Scamwarners.

I am glad you spotted it as a scam, and even happier that you did some searches to findus after, well done.

Scammers will often include one of their own email addresses in the "to" field of the email they send, there are a variety of reasons for them to do this, amonst those reasons would be;

That it will give them a record of who they have send their scam email to in another email box just in case that one gets closed
It will alert other gang members as to who the email has been sent to.
In some cases, an official looking email address may make their scam look more legitimate

If you want to 'scambait' ally123 , which is what it sounds as if you're doing, then go to 419eater.com to learn how to do it safely.

I'm a member there, and it it requires you taking some sensible precautions before you mess about with criminals. It's good fun, but requires that you be careful and sensible. Perhaps not sensible. :D

I decided to reply to the email, even though I had my suspicions, and it turns out that they are looking for someone to 'process' payments for them, by receiving money into their own bank(having opened a new bank account for the purpose) , keeping a proportion of that money for commission, then sending the rest of it to their customers through Western Union. Needless to say, I do not want to risk getting into trouble with the police, as this is obviously a money-laundering operation, so I will NOT be completing their application form. Thanks everyone for your comments and advice - I am so glad I found this site!
