There's not much they can do with just your license and address, but they may re-use the copy of your license in other scams to pose as your name. Set up a Google alert to keep an eye on it:

You can also call your DMV and ask them if you should be issued a new license number when you renew your license.

I received the exact same emails /responses. My gut told me it was a scam but I continued without giving too much information to see how far it would go. I stopped where "he" asked for my address. I shared it with my friend who is a police officer and another friend who is a lawyer. They identified it as a scam right away. It sucks this evil exists and preys on people who are desperately trying to seek an income!!
