OK GUYS THIS IS SERIOUS, I NEED HELP FOR THE SAKE OF MY NAIVE GIRLFRIEND WHO HAS MANAGED TO FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

Basically she desperately took on the job of selling on eBay and the seller told her he depended her good reputation on the site to be able to sell some of his items. The item he has asked her to sell is a Hermes handbag and a buyer is now getting frustrated at her for the obvious lack of shipping of the item. ALSO he asked her to send the large sum of money to a bank account which is non existant and Santander are now investigating.

SO if anyone could give ANY ADVICE WHATSOEVER. I would be eternally grateful because I am not too clued up on law but this whole situation looks pretty messy. Obviously like you guys have already mentioned my girlfriend is clearly going to be targeted as she was the one advertising the item.

AND he is now going by the email of [email protected]. I cannot believe that within two seconds of me doing a background check on the geezer I find this! UGH so stupid.

Your girlfriend has sold an item that she doesn't own and has no ability to supply, so at best, she has probably broken eBay's T&Cs and is likely to have her account with them closed if they are made aware. At worst, she could be investigated for theft or fraud if the buyer complains to the authoriites.

The best thing for your girlfriend to do now is to apologies to and refund the buyer before they start complaining and possibly take legal action against her/report her to the authoriites for fraud. If she's lucky, she'll just get away with the bad review on eBay.

As to the money - she may be lucky and get it refunded if the account it was sent to really does not exist, but that is down to the banks. She's probably best preparing herslef for the fact that she could lose the money if the account she sent it to was actually valid and the owner doesn't return the money.

I've fell for it! I'm out £3399 I've reported him to action fraud and the bank. The buyer of the camera has raised a dispute against me and I don't know what to do. I have bank details and email address also a copy of james Drummond (his 'business partners) passport and a mobile number.
Is there a way I can get the money back?
He's advised me he's closed the bank account now. He's lying saying he will refund me but he's just stringing me along. Help

See my post above yours - the same situation applies. You've sold something that you have no way of delivering, so you're going to have to take the hit on it I'm afraid.

The mobile number you've been given will be fake and your only real way of getting the money back is to take legal action against the person you sent the money to (if you can find their details to serve the court papers), who could well be a victim themselves.

I think I've traced him with some detective work on the internet. I've raised the fraud with action fraud and my bank.
This guy is from the Oldham area and he's been doing this since 2008.

Hi,
I think I have just been scammed by this person. He told me to do exactly what some users have posted on here. He told me to sell a camera on eBay worth a huge amount of money. I thought this person was genuine, and now have to pay PayPal a LOT of money. I am 18 and just very scared and worried on what to do, I also do not want a criminal record as I am looking to go to university this year. Please could anyone help me here.

I'm afraid that unless you pay PayPal what you owe them, they are likely to commence legal proceedings against you to re-claim the funds, which will result in a CCJ against you that will be on your credit history for the next 6 or so years and will make it very difficult to get any form of credit.

It would also be a good idea to report the fraud to your local police and ActionFraud.

If anyone on here has any sort of identification or passport picture, account details etc. of hussain rashid, I would be very much grateful if you could please share it with me. I'm launching an investigation into this hoping to get refunded/compensated, as I have been scammed upwards of £3000.

Re: [email protected]. I have decided to write my experience to share with you all what happened to me. I discovered the above as mentioned before on the Indeed job site on Sept 6th 2014. I received the same email and reply as all of you. Wanting extra cash for christmas, i decided to list an expensive Hasselblad camera for him on ebay. The winning bid went up to over £5,000! When the item ended and the winning bidder had paid I replied back to him - 'send the camera to the buyer and when all is well and the camera has been received i will release the monies to you'. As i was nervous about sending such a large amount i wanted to be 100% sure he was legit. Of course he went crazy! Then he begged me to send him half the amount now etc etc. He would not give me any lee-way AT ALL, so i refunded the buyer the total amount and made my apologies. All i am saying to everyone is please, please be careful. I have done a little research on this person and he also has scams going on in Germany. Anyone could fall for this kind of scam as times are hard and finding a job is tough. Hugz all! P.S. - I have just found this - http://manchestergazette.co.uk/24783/dr ... nes-jailed Could it be him/them? And more of this from last year - http://www.yourlondonjobs.org/3542/ebay ... s-required. As of 3rd Dec 2014 i have found another listing i don't like the look of - http://www.indeed.co.uk/viewjob?jk=27b4 ... job_alerts
