If your account is used to move around stolen money (which is what most of the scammers want to do), when the bank catches on (and they will) you could face penalties/fees from the bank, have your accounts frozen and/or closed, and even face criminal charges for fraud and/or money laundering. In some cases, the scammers could empty your accounts and/or write fake checks on it, which can lead you to another major round of headaches.

If you contact your bank right away, it shows that you did not intend to be a party to fraud, and in general, they will be much more willing to work with you to sort it out and protect you.

Right then YES I got scammed by these people. £729 into account then I transfered it out less 5% via Western Union and the next day my Bank account is frozen, cant get to bank as it is week end then on Monday another £880 is deposited in my account. The Bank thought that I was involved in the scam and it took a lot of talking to the bank and the Bank of England anti fraud unit to explain that I was a victim here, needless to say the £880 was sent back to the rightful customer and part of the £729 was sent back to the rightful customer, I do not know at this point if I will have to pay back the rest. I will send all the e-mails if you want, (which e-mail address should I forward them to) I also have 3 more similar companies all offering me a similar deal - I want to get these name up on your web site as soon as possible.

Career and Benefits
Your main task will be receiving money transactions to any bank account you would like to use for the purposes of this job; and then forwarding these transactions to the next party of the Payment Protection process according to our instructions. You will benefit from the commissions, which are 5-7% of each transaction and depend on the quantity of the completed transactions and the speed of your work. Besides, you will be paid a basic salary of 1500 GBP per month.

For your convenience there will be no paychecks, your commission will remain in your account after every successfully completed transaction. The money transfer fee is not included in your commission, meaning that you will deduct it from the received amount, not from your commission. Also you receive 5-7% of the transaction amount. Normally the amounts that we process vary from 2,000 GBP to 10,000 GBP, but can go higher on special occasions.

Job details
As the financial activity in your area is not too high, a Payment Protection agent will be processing approximately 1-2 transactions per week. Each transaction requires approximately 4-5 hours of the agent work. Our manager always calls the agent beforehand to provide all the instructions. Therefore, with the due time management, the agent is able to combine this job with other activities (e.g. primary job or studies).

This firm lists a UK address, it is a private house on a normal estate but it is seemingly a huge company. I may be doing them a terrible di-service by naming them on here but it is another offer that seems to good to be true. If they are in Northumberland why use a Birmingham fax number.

Hi there,


I also received this letter from Elm company and sent over a bank account especially for occasions like this. It means that is a brand new account with no money with it.

What could happened? If they send me money I will take it and that's it. I have no intentions of sending them money trough Western Union whatsoever!

Where is the catch? With fake checks .........I pretty much got it , but what if they send you real money?
How the bank will hold you liable for withdrawing your own money ?
If somebody knows, please explain that to me ! I don't get it !!!
