Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

I applied for a job posted on Indeed.com for a data entry clerk, interviewed for it, completed a few assessment tasks while waiting for a check to purchase software. I received the check today and thought it was a lot of money for a few software programs. I did some research and came upon this website. Reading these posts made me even more suspicious so I contacted the bank issuing the check for the software and they confirmed it was a fraud. I am so glad that I checked around and did not deposit this check. However I know there are people who will deposit it and get themselves into a lot of trouble. So first THANK YOU for posting! I wasn't even looking for scam information, I was researching the software and your posting came up with the software name in it. So thank you all so much!

My interview and email looks almost exactly like the ones posted with a few minor changes. Here are the names of the company and the people I dealt with;

I replied to an ad on Indeed.com for Data Entry clerk; here is the link to that (I have field a report with them as well as the FBI)

I interviewed with Yvonne Powell on Yahoo! Messenger and she told me I would be working for; Clesstra Healthcare Pvt. ltd based out of Florida (for the US)

I also had contact with a Hunt's Mark

I just want this information out there so people are aware of this scam. I am very glad I found your site.

Thank you so much!! I am in the middle of my "interview" with Yvonne Powell. I had a funny feeling about it because the email from Mark Hunt wasn't in the best English, and I've never had an interview via Yahoo Messenger! I will certainly not go forward with this. It's so disappointing because I've been out of work for over 4 1/2 years...and haven't even had a legitimate interview in probably a year! At least I found out before it wrecked me even more!

Today 6-7-13 I received this same scam attempt. Googled the phone number: 530-553-6541 and found these warnings. Thanks you saved me some heartache!

Yet another name change for the type of scam. They are now calling themselves Celogen Pharma PVT LTD out of India and the contact's name is Michael Bush out of New York. The employment ad was not through Craigslist but through Indeed, a site I have come to trust for avoiding employment scams. While they changed their name, the game is still the same. The interview was totally online (through Yahoo Messenger) with hourly pay and benefits too good to be true. On top of it all, I was promised a new HP laptop on which to download the software they want me to purchase in order to perform the job. I Googled Celogen but didn't have any luck finding out much about them other than they seemed to be a legitimate company. I started Googling about the software they mentioned I would need and that's when I found this website. Thanks to all who posted about this scam. While I was pretty sure I was being scammed, the postings here described the exact same scam protocol they followed in my situation.
