Hello everyone and thank you for this forum
I have also received a e-mail from the wti group. The job description sounds too good to be true and it seems like a real scam:
DUTIES
We are searching for people to process payments coming from our clients. WTI Group will provide an agent
with detailed instructions relevant to payment processing operations, including full name of the sender
and sum in every particular case.
When funds are received on employee's bank account Financial Agent's duty is to withdraw cash and
transfer the funds via International Wire Transfer or using International Western Union/Money Gram money
transfer system.
The main advantage of our services is the shortest possible time within which the seller can receive money
for the services/goods sold. If this operation is delayed, our client will have a right to cancel the contract
and we shall suffer financial losses. That's why successful applicant must be very responsible and careful!
Best regards, Mark McFerson

Does anyone know anything about these guys?It smells fake to me...

Welcome to Scamwarners. You are quite right, as anyone who asks you to bank checks and send money by Western Union is a scammer. Businesses don't have any trouble accepting payments by foreign buyers.
http://www.gr8domainz.co.uk was only created 10 days ago, but that doesn't make it a scam. Neither does this.
We first opened for business in XXXX, and have been serving Farnham, and the rest of the UK, ever since.

Unprofessional though.

I have no doubt that the wtilogistics.com site is a fake one, I'm putting the gears in motion to get it offline :)

Ok I received the e-mail too, today.

Can anyone tell me if they are assuming my identity or have put worms in my laptop? How dangerous are they? I just replied as there was no attachment. Have they stolen my identity? I'm really worried. I can't find answers on the forum.

Thanks guys
Ronnie

Hello, Ron & welcome to Scamwarners.

It is unlikely they have stolen your identity - it depends on what information you may have sent (copy of Passport, Bank Account details or SSN etc). Those may be used by scammers, but just your name, address etc are not really useful to them.

As far as spreading viruses is concerned, that too is unlikely as those infections generally come embedded in attachments. To be safe, though, I would suggest you run a reputable anti-virus/anti-malware program on your laptop.

Hi Sayuri and Welcome to Scamwarners.

Scammers have a few ways of gathering email addresses, it could be through searching websites or guestbooks, buying lists or by setting up fake sites.

Knowing exactly how your details got into the hands of scammers is near impossible but you could try doing a search on your email address to see what comes up.

You could also review who you have given your email address to, you may have previously responded to an add that a scammer has placed or replied to somebody with a fake offer.

Stopping the scams from getting into your inbox is not going to happen, you can only reduce the number of fake offers, the best thing to do is learn how to tell the real from the fake and dont reply if anything looks like it may be a scam.

Of course, if you ever have doubts you can ask here as well ;)

Hi and welcome to Scamwarners. I'm glad you found the site useful.
It's a very common employment scam. While the details vary, they all ask you to bank checks and forward most of the proceeds on by Western Union or Moneygram. We still like them reported here though, for the "employer's" name and email address.
If you are job hunting online, you will be targeted by scammers unfortunately.
