Hi All, they got my CV which im a bit narced about-got address and tel.no but when I got the next e.mail thought-this cant be right-googled ELM, luxury goods company scam and came up with loads incl. your good selves. It is a very well put together scam and one of the best I have seen so far.any way here's my pile of you know what. Why the hell though does it seem like this country/police or whoever deals with this increasingly common/sophisticated form of crime start actually tackling it? and locking some scum away? rant over-good to see people power in action again-like were not up against enough already...

Thank you very much alscamaware, this might be just the stuff I needed to get it down! :D

The problem for the police is that these scammers are sending from fake names, depositable cell phones, and internet cafes. It's very hard to actually link a real person to the online personality. Also there is the problem that it's a crime that crosses borders. Communication between the coutries isn't that easy. Most of the law enforcement agencies don't bother unless it's a big amount of money that is lost :?

If you have any questions, do not be afraid to ask ;)

Ah thanks for the explanation Michael-hmmm I hadn't thought that deeply about it,but... it is crime!!its illegal! why isn't more being done? otherwise shouldn't we all give up the daily grind and oh, lets just all become internet scammers!? it makes me cross-this country just isn't pro-active enough.I think our B***dy government should be approaching people like yourself and your colleagues and offering to employ you in a fight against this sh*te -as you say-it's usually small time but for the innocent people that are are scammed it can have devastating effects on their lives-it would mine if I was suddenly 5k in debt/no bank account & in trouble with the police. If I get much more cross I may even write to an MP for what good that will do, but hey-if it makes me feel better! lol Anyway glad to hear this may help you/us which is why I uploaded it.I seem a target for it, I had that flippin' crapquest lot on my case last year-managed to shake those low life's off too.Good work chaps

Hi Page and Layna, welcome to Scamwarners.

I am glad that you both had some quick thinking and found that it was a scam before losing any money, well done to teh both of you.

I have removed your email addresses from the header part of your posts to prevent you from receiving further scams and spam.

Thank you for posting the details of your scammers, it may well prevent somebody else from being scammed. Well done :=)
by laynahowe Mon Jul 12, 2010 6:44 am
Hi

Thanks for that however the "To" address that showed in the header wasn't actually my email address.
Mine only showed in the first line of the header as "Delivered-To:" which i left out of the post.

Thanks for your vigilence though :)
by Ralph Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:10 am
Thanks for letting me know ;)

Scammers do sometimes put their own email address in the "To" field but I wasn't prepared to take any chances.

I am glad you left your own email address out though :)
by Michael Mon Jul 12, 2010 12:35 pm
Oh for crying out loud, elm-career.com is yet another one. I'll be off reporting that one soon. Thanks for posting this here! Anybody that has received an email coming from [email protected], please send me headers, as I need them for evidence :)

hey people

I'm so happy to google these scamers before i did anything.
Like they say..'if something is too good to be true, then it probably is'

I wonder how many people they tried to scam, and how many fell for it.
anyway am just glad I got lucky, and i hope more people get to realise this scam.

and this scam is quite recent and new.. so pass on the info to help other not to get scammed.

Welcome here sufi5

This scammer must attract a crowd as this topic is quite popular, but somehow most people are getting doubts and start to search for information. So in this case i would say that this scammer isn't very succesfull. :D

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

Hi,

I received an e-mail from ELM luxury goods today, it appears that this "Laura Jenkins" has either changed her name to Sandra Molins, or there are more than one of these scammers behind ELM.

Greetings,

We have reviewed your profile on Totaljobs and want to consider you for the vacancy of administrative assistant/sales support. You'll work at the convenience of your home, part-time.

ELM, a luxury goods business, offers great off-season luxury finds from the most high-status international designers and collectibles from the rarest collections at irresistible prices.
Wage part-time: 1,800GBP/month, plus expenses.
In the attachments you will find the contract with a detailed job description.
If you have any questions please email to: [email protected].

Sincerely yours,
Sandra Molins
ELM Team

Guess what? No attachment. i e-mailed for this information and its a long confusing contract.
This does not only sound like a scam, but the first thought that popped into my head is MONEY LAUNDERING which if caught (or being involved in) is a hefty 15 years behind bars.

DON'T DO IT GUYS x
