Interesting to read about Ukash vouchers, was in the paper today. Scammers ask you to get Ukash vouchers and only send them the last few digits of it's serial numbers as proof you've done it.
The start of the serial number is based on the country which sells the voucher, and can be guessed at by the scammer.

Then, armed with the whole code, they can cash the voucher in any country.

In your cash, sending them a scan of the voucher would have allowed them to steal your money with very little effort.

The scammers are trying to pull off the same scam using the same phone number under a variety of names.

I'll list some of them below, but undoubtedly they'll use others and they'll impersonate real companies as well.

Simply, if a company doesn't have a bank account, it's a scam.

08456860435

Apex Cleaning Ltd
Asos Warehouse Ltd
Access Security Ltd
Apex Cleaners Ltd
Marvel Cleaning Ltd

(Where these are real companies, the scammer is nothing to do with them and is impersonating them without their knowledge or permission).

if these jobs are appearing on government websites then this must be flagged up to them. That just makes me outraged. :bondage:

These scam jobs should never appear on any government websites.

With a cursory check the scammers use a lot more phone numbers and a lot more different company names. Quite simply if a company offers you a job but asks you to make a payment using a UKASH voucher first - it's a scam.

If you recently applied for a job on the YOUGOV website please let me know which ad you responded to as i suspect this may be where the scammers are obtaining the information. If you confirm my suspicions I'll apply and collect any evidence I get and pass it to the authorities.

kated1152 I hope you didn't publish personal details such as email address in public post. That's what site protection is for so you do not get spam and scams. If you didn't get such an offer on site or advertise for the job, where did it come from ? See Terrance post underneath because someone managed to get details you may respond to. Never send cash due to internet contacts by any means whatsoever incuding UKASH or Western Union etc. Companies write letters and use website email addresses and not free ones like yahoo and gmail. They don't let employees receive cash lke this for obvious reasons, and companies have to keep accounts. You can check out companies on the Companies house website.

my friend has just had the same email about a job he applied for from Crown Security Recruitment on gumtree but he stupidly paid the £50 fee qat a paypoint and also they asked for £40 for a uniform which never arrived. He emailed them and they said there must have been a problem with the voucher code and he will have to pay again. He started getting suspicious and asked me about it and i did a lot of googling and finally found your site! looks like a scam !
