Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

It is a scam.

As long as your friend keeps paying, they'll keep asking for money. There isn't a job and there never was a job.

UKASH voucher codes should only be used on the websites of approved retailers. By passing the codes on by e-mail or telephone to another person, they can use it to buy goods online. That's all they're after.

Anyone asking you to give them a UKASH code is a scammer. They're only for use at online stores.

TNT - Manager

This was the first time I had ever heard of uKash and I've never worked anywhere that required a CRB check before so just thought it was normal protocol.
Additionally, I apply for multiple jobs every day and was the first to offer a job so naturally I went ahead and got a uKash vouncher.
I even googled the guys name "Dave Hughes" and found a linked in account (http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/dave-hughes/40/610/2b5) and also his name on the official TNT website: (http://cgi.tnt.co.uk/depotlocator/depot ... d+Park%7CB)
The email was from "[email protected]".
I sent him an email with the voucher number on Friday (16th Aug) and even cut short a trip to be back before Monday.

When I turned up at the address at 9.50 this morning the security guard told me that there was no job and that this has happened three or four times in the past six months, by the way he said it it was obvious that it wasn't the first time he'd said it that day either.
In the five minutes that I stood there four more people turned up for this so called "training day" and have the exact same story as me, only one of them hadn't given over the uKash voucher code and had just turned up.

I filed a police report, got a crime number and a Action Fraud crime number (http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/) which the police gave me. Ring 0300 123 2040 and report it.

Unfortunately uKash haven't been helpful. Despite having my receipt for the voucher in my hand, they refused to tell me what it had been spent on (they confirmed that the money had already been spent).
I'm not going to stop harassing them for my money. This is my first experience with uKash, I want my money back and I want these scumbag scammers held accountable.

I hope this information is useful to others.

I'm sorry to hear your story vincent. This scam was most common a few months back but it was bound to make a comeback as the scammers decided it was time to run with it again.

The fact that many scams target people trying hard to find work exposes the scammers for what they are, evil and worthless vermin. The simplest way to check is to independently get a phone number for the company and ring them to check. Unfortunately lots of job sites are over run with scam job offers, so that if you send out a lot of applications there's every chance that you'll have alerted scammers and they'll contact you with scams.

The way things are it's easy to get caught up in the excitement your application has been successful, which only makes it a very sick way to steal money.

I am afraid you won't see your money again, it has been stolen. It is not Ukash's problem, that you gave the money to someone who was a criminal and out of millions of transfers how can they know? Cut your losses and time and give up on it. I doubt if the police will act on a very small amount of money and by the look of the language in the letter they are nowhere near the UK. I think it has an Eastern European feel to it, so you can think Romania or similar, and if it is UK then they won't be caught, these criminals move around freely and there is hardly any way to track them. It will be pick pocketing and handbag thefts tomorrow and then vanish.

Welcome to Scamwarners ightscam.

Any company that doesn't offer you its bank account must be a scam. Companies don't use cash payment methods like this.

Targeting those looking for work is pretty despicable.
