ExxonMobil Cepu Limited is an independent oil and gas company and leading upstream operator in the East Java region of Indonesia. Following the Cepu Block contract ratified in 2001, the Banyu Urip oil field is currently operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Limited. First oil production from the Banyu Urip field commenced in December 2008 through the Early Production Facility (EPF) which began the production of 20,000 barrels of oil per day in August 2009.
Through innovation and excellence in project management, production was increased to over 80,000 barrels per day by the time of the full field start-up in 2015. Today Banyu Urip field boasts of the production rate of over 200,000 barrels of oil per day, delivering 25 percent of the national oil production.
