I received the exact same e-mail, word for word. This morning, I received this e-mail from him:

Hello xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx,

Congratulation for your new Job. For effective and efficient business relationship between us, i need to know if i can earn your trust and reliability now that you will be handling some financial transactions in the course of executing your duties. You will be resuming at the Office in 7 working days time as soon as i have concluded payment of the shop Space,so for this new week you will only be running some errands within for me pending your resumption at the office next week.

As said in my previous mail, some Gowns are to be delivered to the new shop and some respective buyers who already made payment in advance. i need you to make the balance payment for the shipping of the Gowns once i have been informed of it's moving, i will be sending some funds across to you which will include your first week's salary in case you need to move around, you are to have the balance sent to the Shipping Agent after you have deducted half of your week salary and extra $50 for running around. I will let you have the Information you need as soon as arrangements have been concluded. I also need you to confirm your information again below so there won't be any error in getting it across to you. Once i get your confirmation, i will make contact for the check to be mailed out to you mmediately, surely won't want us to disappoint our buyers! This person found me because he had an ad posted on Craigslist for an "Office Administrator / Assistant"
In any event, after seeing this email from him this morning I realized this is a scam and simply did not respond. For all of those out there seeking employment, I realize that at sometimes we can get a little desperate and when we receive e-mails such as these that they are true but remember this:

1) No legitimate business will hire you simply because you may have emailed once or twice with someone.
2) No legitimate business would simply send you a check without ever having met you.
3) No legitimate business would have you make payments on their behalf, especially in cash.

I recently had this chat with someone on Google Hangouts claiming to work for Fidelity Investments Australia named Harold English:

To enable you sit for this job and position there are working equipment and software's which are required for this job and position this is because you will be working from home as all expenses are handle by the company, so there for the company will be sending you a check, this check will be for the purchase of all the working equipment that you need as you will be purchasing them from the company local vendor, method of purchase and means of payment will be made known to you when the check get to you.

I became immediately suspicious as I am familiar with Fidelity and didn't believe for a moment that would ever hire in this manner. After doing a simple search I was able to find an e-mail for Fidelity Australia and sent a message to them. They confirmed what I already knew. No such person works for them nor would they ever recruit in this manner.
I decided to see what would happen if I requested a commitment letter, written on company letterhead officially offering me this position. When asked, I was immediately denied this request by this Harold English claiming it was against company policy and procedure. I never told him I knew he was a scammer, I simply advised that without this I am not interested in this position and would no longer be conversing with him. He did send me several emails attempting to gain my trust, all which I simply ignored.

What's the email address of the fake Fidelity person?

Both scammers are African and have never been in America or Australia. The same scammer is playing both Harold English and the software vendor.

Interestingly enough even though I never conversed with him any further in the mail this morning I received a counterfeit cashiers check from Suntrust Bank in the amount of $4,500.00. I contacted Suntrust and they did confirm this is a counterfeit check. You are correct, supposedly it was sent from the supplier which is Molex Company, which is indeed a legitimate business. The label says it was mailed from them in Lislie, IL however the post office stamp is from Arizona.
