JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an energetic individual that can implement our purchasing program in the United States. Focused on wholesale customers with a turnover of $2 million plus, we want to train a leader who will meet and exceed all our customers’ expectations.
Experts determined that the company has a promising business model; however we need to enter the international market to complete the development of our mission. Based in Europe, we just entered the U.S. market and have a multitude of opportunities for an individual with strong long-term career goals.
As a purchasing manager you will be responsible for purchasing, planning delivery timetables, overseeing the ordering and packaging process, overseeing shipments, tracking products, keep an eye on daily operations.
Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Getting goods and services for the best price and value
• Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process and fast production times
• Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively
• Building strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers
• Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the business
• Always be in touch by e-mail and over the phone to follow our instructions rapidly
• Getting pre-paid shipping documents (USPS, DHL, UPS, and FedEx) preparing them for use
• Preparing goods, materials and equipment for the shipping (packaging, preparing labels)
• Working closely with various departments like customer service, production, sales and accounting
To implement the purchasing program and increase the amount of your orders you will be issued a Wells Fargo® Business Platinum Credit Card with credit line of $50,000. Therefore you are required to have a clear credit history and high FICO® score. However, your score will be increased by 50-120 points during the first working quarter.
Once you’ve got some work experience behind you, you’ll be ready for supervising purchasing agents and buyers. You will be given more responsibilities to keep you busy:
• Seeking reliable vendors or suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices
• Maintain professional business relationships with suppliers to ensure purchasing quality and savings
• Understanding technology and managing online systems such as e-auctions and e-tendering
• Interview and hire staff, and oversee staff training
• Dealing with international suppliers
• Monitor and motivate staff
