I have recently had contact from the same person or persons, except it was not for employment, it was in regards to buying a vehicle from me on Craiglists. Received a check for payment that was $1100 more than asking price and was told it was for the "shipping company" to which I was to send to:

- Shipping Agent: Cristina Bautista
- Agent Address: 5100 Mission Blvd
- City: Ontario
- State: CA
- Zip Code: 91762

The Check was issued from: Citi Bank N.A., New York, NY 10005
Ritches Bros Auctioners {America} Inc
2736 State Hwy 30
Gloversville, NY 12078

The check however was mailed from: http://www.shiprush.com
Trinity Resources CO
201 Greenwood Dr.
Beaumont, TX 77705

Scammers name was hard to understand because of very thick accent and I think it was Amir something, but scammers phone number he texted from 802-347-3124 out of Enosburg, VT but is a web based phone

Hi guys,

Can you please explain to me how this scam works, because I got in contact with this Tom Lawrence? He is saying that I will get a check of $3500. I should deposit it in bank, keep $500 and send $3000 to someone. All this for driving with an advertisement. Please someone explain this to me because I am not getting it.

Thanks

The check will be a good quality fake or drawn on a compromised account. The scammer hopes that by the time the banks figure it out, you will have sent the $3,000 to him (the person you are asked to send it to will be another of his IDs or possibly a mule who collects money for him).

When the banks discover the check is bad, the $3,500 will be reversed from your account, leaving you down the $3,000 you sent to the scammer, with bank charges and possibly being investigated for passing dud checks.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
