Job Information
The Manager of Logistics position will perform the following duties:
• Administers the freight-sheltered income program while ensuring timely delivery of inside collect and backhaul shipments.
• Enlists and qualifies various carriers and manages the claims and pallet recovery programs.
• Administers claim recovery program.
• Ensures that loads are booked and delivered as scheduled.
• Searches for carriers to cover loads in problem areas.
• Qualifies carriers and maintains accurate rate, contract and insurance records.
• Identifies backhaul pickups that do not meet the minimum requirement for revenue.
• Reviews daily purchase orders to build optimal consolidations to achieve maximum revenue.
• Establishes Booked Freight Cost with vendors.
• Negotiates contract rates and conditions with carrier.
• Administers “pallets owed” to vendor program.
• Books loads with appropriate vendor.
• Initializes billbacks to vendors for lost freight opportunities

SUMMARY
Logistics Analyst will be responsible for inbound and outbound transportation operations. Responsibilities include shipment generation, track and trace, customer service, metric generation, reporting, leading operational meetings with client and carriers, and project management for the account, reporting to the Logistics Manager. This is a service oriented role, designed to increase the control of the Value Chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accept accountability for client transportation functions.
Build carrier relationships at the local level
Assist in facilitating quarterly carrier reviews
Support Carrier Services activities
Contracting
Carrier searching and qualifying
Carrier rate negotiations
Support Freight Payment
Assist in resolving invoicing issues
Drive standardization in invoicing
Report on project progress and manage customer expectations
Identify and quantify potential supply chain improvements
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Support warehousing operations with carriers as needed
Manage sometimes complex organizational issues involving customer’s various functional areas and multiple plant locations
Develop or maintain tools used to quantify a project’s impact on costs
Generate weekly, monthly and quarterly performance metrics
Identify and provide analysis of trends in metrics
Initiate action plans to address negative trends and activities positive activities
Develop a strong knowledge of the customer’s supply chain and drivers of costs in the network
Present and defend findings & analysis to the customer
OTHER DUTIES

Position Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated leadership and management capability—a “mentor”
Transportation or logistics supervisory, operational, and customer service experience
Experience with Transportation management software
Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills to prioritize, coordinate projects and manage conflicting needs
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously – while meeting deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with LTL, TL and small parcel transportation modes
Superior analytical and problem solving skills
Education and/or Experience
BS in Business or Logistics
