Just to warn others in case...I received a text message from someone who said she saw my number on care.com and a friend of hers lives near me and needs a babysitter. The text asked me to email the friend at [email protected]
It seemed suspicious but I tried. I received the email below which is obviously bogus because of the relocating to my area story (but she doesn't know where my area is?), the language, the details, and finally because I put down no experience or references on care.com so they have no way of knowing if I am a quality babysitter!

Good day to You,

Welcome to Scamwarners,

Yes, it is a scam. The scammer sends hundred of emails daily so he has to be generic.

The scammer wanted to send you a fake check. Have you cash it and send money to a third party.

Your bank will inform you later of the fake. You will have to repay the bank.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.
