Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

I posted a job wanted ad on craigslist today and got a response text from someone going by the name John Scott, with a phone number in the Tuscon area (520), I'm located in Denver. He promised $350.00 a week to post 2 ads per day from my own Craigslist account. All I would need to do is to send him the link.

It seemed alright until I gave him my email so he could send me the contents of the post. It was for a housekeeping job, very vague, that pays $500 per week. I searched, and someone had posted the identical ad in Atlanta a few days before. A housekeeping job that pays that well, very vague, in any city across the US with the same contact definitely seemed like a scam to me, so I looked it up. Apparently this is a common scam and is almost 100% sure it's a scam if the person is willing to post a random ad in any city across the US.

Apparently it works like this: These scammers already have banned IPs on a variety of job sites and so by getting you to use your account, they can still get their ad posted and continue scamming people. You are basically creating the ad that the scam victim will see and you will also never get paid.

Just making this post to say watch out. :yikes:
