Hi and welcome to Scamwarners.
It's a scam. The Home Office does not use free email addresses or 4470 numbers that redirect calls anywhere in the world.

100% scam, absolutely no doubt about it.

First of all, there is no UK BOARDER agency (this scammer has spelling issues, and we've seen this exact same misspelling from scammers before).

Second, even if there was one, the UK government does not use free email addresses (@live.co.uk) --anything from the government would be from a government email address (ending in .gov.uk).

Third, 44-70 numbers are redirect numbers, forwarded to phones all over the world. They are used frequently by scammers pretending to be in UK. If you dial the number, you think you are calling UK, but the call is actually being forwarded to the scammer's cellphone in Africa.

The fake border agency will tell you they are getting your visa to work in the UK (which they can't do, you would actually have to do yourself, and getting a work visa for UK is not easy), and they will charge you various fees for this process. In reality, the agency is just your scammer or one of his accomplices, who will pocket the money and walk away.

The best thing you can do is drop this scammer. Ignore him, tell him you are no longer interested, or just walk away. Don't tell him what he did wrong, and don't point him to the discussion here, or he may change the scam for next time.

Edit to add: Can you post "Shane's" emails? They will hlep others to avoid being scammed.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the help. You saved my life. anyway there's another scammer who posted an invitation on my email. Read on:
Dear Teacher.

We are a Canadian family living in UK We read your profile at timejob.com and we have decided that you come and teach English to my Wife and my little son Peter because my Wife is a Swedish and she is not very good in English so that why we want you to come and teach English to her and my little son Though my son is better than my Wife because he is schooling here in UK but my Wife is a Nurse by Profession but her English is not good to be able to socialize with her friends here so we want you to come and teach her and my son.

About Our Family

We are a professional couple, living in a big UK city. My Wife and Son is fairly easy going and relaxed persons. Having English as a first language is not much required in fact, we would entertain you speaking to them in your own mother-tongue during lecturer so as to create fun.

We only seek a Teacher for basic English tutoring as what we need is for my Wife to atleast understand the basics in English. If you accept to take a position with us, you would be paid 3500GBP with a weekly pocket money of 400Pounds. I guess you'd say this is much, but the Company pays us well and I love my only child/Wife so much. Hence we are doing anything that would motivate you putting your best in tutoring my family (Wife/Son).

Should you accept the offer, we are willing to undertake the full cost of your traveling down here in UK. We would recommend a reputable travel agency immediately here in UK that would process your travel documents because we need you quite soon as my Wife is about to go for an interview in an Hospital this December and we need her to atleast defend her self in English during the interview.

Please communicate your interest to me through my direct mobile line +447024022994 so that we can discuss your travel arrangements and also my Son's birthday is on the 10th of October and I would very much want you to be there.

We sincerely look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes

I guys,

I decided to sigh to this forum on behalf of the company I work for.
It is Novatelecom Ltd, we are basically located in Barcelona. We got to know by chance that someone is faking our company identity for doing scams, which is completely unacepptable from our side, as we are a serious and wellknown business company. There is a girl from Argentina that was contacted by Mr Erton through a nanny´s website, telling her she was shoosen to work for them as a nanny for their only child peter, apparently they were a Canadian family who turned to live to UK. He asked her(Argentinian girl) to send some money via western Union for all the visa processing and necessary documents. She sent the money and this trickster Mr Erton poked the money and walked away. We do not know this Guy Erton, and definitely he does not work for our company and will not work ever by sure!

I come today to clarify that this fake guy called Mr Erton, shane, Javier or whatever name he shooses to do his misdeeds does not come from our company.

All these people should go to jail, cause they are taking big advantage from inocent people. So please girls if you receive any job advertisement from someone saying works for Novatelecom Ltd is liying and you are about to fall in a trap. If you have any doubs or concernings about what I have just stated or if you even want to know more of this, you can contact me to: [email protected] or [email protected]

Thanks for your time and attention,

Welcome to Scamwarners.
Scammers often use the names of genuine businesses, and we never doubted that this was the case here.
People prepared to cheat those looking for employment, think nothing about impersonation.
Apart from putting a warning on your website, there is nothing you can do about it.
