So I noticed there were two missed calls from a private number.
I later checked my voicemail.
I got a message from Candy Turner. She said she was with exam support and was responding to a job application I submitted on allstarjobs.com for a window clerk position with USPS. The callback number is 844-257-4452 and the reference number is JJK3389.
I was warned that it could have been another Employment scam since it was a government job posted on a basic website. I honestly didn't think anything of it at first.
So I called back. Everything sounded good. She thoroughly explained what could be easily found on the USPS website. Pay scale and all. Then she told me that I would need the study guide for the exam. She went on to say that it would cost $100 and the money would be refunded back to me under 3 conditions: I would get it back on my first pay check -OR- if I scored higher than a 70 and no position was offered right away -OR- if I passed the exam and never heard back from USPS.
First of all, why charge $100 if you're only going to give it back? Second, it's dealing with the government. I'm pretty sure that the cost would be a little to free. So while I was on the phone with her, I did a quick Google search. Every post I read said DO NOT PAY - ITS A SCAM. Candy told me that the hiring process with USPS was based on the date the exam was taken and who ever scored the highest would be offered the best position first. So this means that people like her prey on others that are desperate to score the highest score possible and are foolish enough to pay for it.
So I immediately backed out of the situation by saying that I didn't have the money and that I would call back.

This is the second time that allstarjobs.com has tried to burn me in less than a week. I think it's fair to say that that site is not legit and if you are serious about seeking employment, avoid this site at all costs!
