More than one scam......

So I posted on craigslist to find some work, since I have been out of work for almost 2 years I am desperate to find employment. I figured "What a great way to reach alot of people at once"..... apparantly it was a bad idea, because with all the bogus responses I am not sure who to trust and who not to trust. I have saved all of the emails and even one instance of an entire instant message conversation. I will post one here and wait for a mods reponse so I know what to do about the IM and other emails. Here is the first response to my posting on craigslist.

ok so I figured out this was a scam purely by gut feeling, and I have been in tech for about 15 years. I have saved all the emails (thru yahoo and hotmail) and I use trillian IM, and have it log every single chat that I am part of. Please let me know what I should do with them, since I did not want to post them all here and spam one enourmous page... and possibly get banned from this site....

Don't worrie, you can post all the relevant emails here, infact we encourage people to post scam emails here, as it can warn others. Although i don't think you have to post long chat logs, maybe only relevant stuff. And that mysecuredlink.com website looks like a fake website used by these scammers. If you post more emails, is it possible to post them with full headers?

Yes, it's hard to find a real job through craigslist. Just be carefull, and check the headers of every email you get in.
I just noticed you use hotmail, and with hotmail there are problems with the headers. Do you use another email account aswell?

As you suspected, that is a scam and there is no job. It's an affiliate fee scam. The scammer gets $$ as an affiliate of the credit report site (most likely his link will ultimately lead you to creditreport.com)

Real employers do not send potential employees to dodgy websites to get their own credit reports, ever.

First, I thank everyone who is putting time into bringing this crap to the light of day, and I appreciate the responses. oh and I do have hotmail AND yahoo mail I have received and saved just let me know what I need to do to get the header information...

ok... that is enough for now... and to believe this all happened just this morning.....reaffirms my lack of faith in humanity...*sigh*.. let me know how to retrieve the header info and I will do so and consolidate them all into one post containing all the header info. Again, thank-you all so much.

We're not really here to provide advice on getting a job but I think it's pretty unlikely that employers are searching any of the sites you're posting on desperately seeking employees. You may get a lot of 'knock backs' but you'll probably do better to approach companies direct, and you'll certainly avoid the scammers.

You're expecting the employers to come and seek you out, and the world isn't working like that at the moment, so unless you join an employment agency (again taking care to avoid the scammers who want up front fees) you're likely to just attract scammers wanting to steal from you.

Ok Gomer, apparantly you did not read WHY I posted these emails here......and I wasn't asking advice on job hunting...damn ..duh.. I was asking how to get hotmail to show the header info.... gg.. and I thought I was a noob

Welcome, noturavgnoob.

Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to retrieve the headers from your hotmail account. Hotmail has been having some problems with this function of late and I've not heard of anyone have success getting headers. You can get headers from a Yahoo account, however. These directions may depend on which version of Yahoo you're using. You can try this: When looking at the email you want the header for, look on the bottom right of the screen and you'll see an option for full headers. Once you have a header, you can copy and paste it into this tool for information: http://www.iptrackeronline.com/header.php

Regardless of whether or not you can retrieve the headers, I can say with certainty that you're correct that these are all scam emails and the information posted here, with or without headers, is helpful to others.
