I received this e-mail shortly after responding to an employment ad on Craigslist, and declined their offer after finding the exact same e-mail message on this site:

Your resume was received and it has been reviewed, I did appreciate it. So I will give this a GO"

I'm looking for someone that can be trusted and reliable to work very well and with good understanding.

This position is home-based and flexible, working with me is basically about instructions and following them,my only fear is that I may come at you impromptu sometimes, so I need someone who can be able to meet up with my irregular timings.As my Personal Assistant,your activities amongst other things will include;

*Running personal errands, supervisions and monitoring. Scheduling programmes, flights and keeping me up to date with them.Acting as an alternative telephone correspondence while I'm away.Making regular contacts and drop-offs on my behalf. Handling and monitoring some of my financial activities..
Basic wage is $ 585 Weekly

I'm sure you'll understand I tend to have a very busy schedule at this point,as I am presently in Australia, I will be back in Three Weeks.
I think you're the right person for this position,Please note that this position is not office based for now because of my frequent travels and tight schedules, it's a part-time work from home and the flexibility means that there will be busier weeks than others, so it's a little difficult judging the exact number of hours you'll be doing per week.If you can manage your time properly,this job may even give you some extras while you do something else on the side. As I have said, I'd want us to get a head START with things as soon as possible.I do have lots of works piled up presently and a number of unattended chores which you can immediately assist me with, I hope we can meet up with the workload eventually. Unfortunately, I responded to this e-mail with my personal information and am now worried that something will come of it. It is clear that if I am sent any strange checks then they should be taken to the police immediately because it is clearly a scam. I did not realize it until the next message, that was increasingly stranger and sounded nothing like the original message:

I wish to congratulate you on the new job. Sorry for the delay,we had to verify all the information you provided. I hope i will have your 100 % loyalty and co -operation.Your quick response to e-mails and effectiveness will be required and you will be receiving your first assignment very soon.You will be emailed with detailed instructions. This is your Representative Number and should be included in any email you send or receive from us. I await your urgent response.

This definitely seems like a mass mailing at this point and I urge anyone who receives an e-mail from this address, or anything sounding like this message to ignore and delete.

What can a scammer do with this information I have given them (name, address, phone number?) - I want to feel safe as this is information anyone who had a phone book could find out about me, but the fact that I sent that information (AND MY RESUME) directly to a scammer is really starting to bother me.

Welcome tinytelephones and thanks for posting this info about a scammer.

As you stated, the information you sent to him is something that could easily be found publically so you're pretty safe. If you stop contact with the scammer, he's not likely to do anything beyond try to continue to scam you. Scammers can be a bit persistent so he may continue to email you with this and other scams or may call you on the phone. If you ignore him, he'll eventually move on. You should be perfectly safe.
