Scam?

Hi again, I got this email that is looking qutie like one I got a couple of weeks ago.

All participating models will be paid all photo shoots for the event would include,shoot with cars,motorcycles,and music artist which would be about 12 different fashion outfits put-together,also we intend to use most of the pics in our first catalog launch and our calendar for year 2011/2012.

It sounds very unlikely.

If you don't have an agent or belong to an agency how have they chosen you ? - and if you have any of those, your agent/agency should check it out.

It would seem unusual for one model to handle a whole range of clothes as it's the clothes being shown off and not the model. Using one model limits the company and usually you'd expect to meet before anything's agreed, especially for something so wide ranging and varied.

I've also never heard of a calendar 2011/12. They usually run from January to December and again, it makes no sense to have just one model featured.

The mistake the person is making is to try to make it sound like a prestige job, but doing it in a very amateur way.

I'm sorry but this is a scammer and timewaster.

Scam. You can see this particular letter was flagged on Model Mayhem back in December, so it has been going around a few months. (Also, they can't keep their story straight--first they are updating their catalog, then they are launching their first catalog...)

Confirmation to receipt of your email, kindly be inform that due process must be follow for you to be legal book for the assignment, we need something unique for the photo shoot, though there will be professional that will help you with your poses and some free styles, but practice make perfection I will advice you to start visiting the gym from now for exercise,but i beleive you are fit already, the assignment does not contain any nudity like I have said in my previous email,

your level of experience is not important, you will be working with professionals such as wardrobe stylist, hair stylist, make up artist and poses trainer. We need that energy that you got, you must free yourself to mix with new faces because it’s a day shoot, good looking is a plus, and you must be kind and submit yourself for instructions.you are not travelling anywhere,the shoot will be held at rented studio near your city.
I'm the photographer/casting director from U.K, I will be coming with my assistant and some other crew, You will be shooting with 12 different outfits such as, Jackets, Suits, Jeans, Blazers Gowns, African outfits, T-shirts, Indian outfits, shoes etc. there will be male and female outfits, there won't be any naked outfit because its against my religion I don't shoot anything involved naked, if you have tattoo’s, pierce in your body, long hair or short hair, colored hair is not a problem you’re most welcome for the shoot.
All your outfits will be arranged according to your measurement, this is an open call, the shoot will be used as an audition for big fashion events in Germany and the pays will be huge.
We agreed to make part payment before the shoot according to my payment policy, everything about the project must be legal however an agreement letter have been attached which you need to go through before you sign and email it back while you will come with the hard copy for the shoot, for security reason there will an official tag that will be send to your address the tag will be use to gain entrance, kindly provide with the following information, for your profile, outfits and payment.

However, the scammer is using the website of a legitimate company to make the scam plausible. Then he points you to his "private" email
