Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

There is this job offer advertised in 2 or 3 different sites, but the adverts are slightly differents one to another.

A Customer Manager job offer announced and I reply to it.

Few days later a offer is made, a contract already sent by email, asking to sign it and scan it to them, and scan too my passport.

the offer is pretty good, there I started to doubt.

If anyone would have a look at this and give me a hand to solve it. would be great.

Before even looking at that website, i can see that it's a scam. They give you a contract without an interview? They never asked questions to find out you are qualified for the job? Am i right that one of the tasks would be processing of money, or 'handling' payments? With these kinds of scams the scammer will use you as a 'money mule' processing payments from other victims. If you have some emails from this scammer, please post them here.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

Hi, i'm from Portugal and i also had the same job offer from this BS Travel Agency. I would like to post the e-mails they sent me but i dont know how to do it.

He uses the name Gregory Dowell and on the contract he uses a diferent name, Glenn Logue.

Hello kikas and welcome to ScamWarners.

If you copy and paste the emails into a text document first, you can then copy and paste them from the text document into your 'PostReply' here.

Please include Gregory Dowell's email address - and make sure to delete your own name, personal details, and email address should they appear anywhere in the emails.

After you have pasted the emails into your 'Reply', you can use the 'Preview' button below the text box to check that they look the way the way you want them to.

If you want to put the emails into separate quote boxes, highlight the individual email and then click on the 'quote' button above the text box. Again, you can use 'Preview' to check that everything looks the way you want ... and then you can also change anything that didn't come out right the first time!

Good evening,

I have to ask for help because I was working with BSTravel since 3 weeks.
I talk to my sister, to friends, to them before start working with them, I think a lot, I wait and I start.
They send me a contract, tasks to do, they call me everyday, they send me money to pay me the work, but since a week they don't tell me anything else.
I found a guy in facebook that he made the same work and after that money was retired from his account to pay retired founds. I don't have any money in my account for them to retire any but I don't know what I have to do.
I have to go to my bank and talk to them? Go to police and talk to them?
I have so many problems, I am whithout a job since 3 years, I have many debts, I have a kid to support, I don't know what I have to do.
And now this, my God. Please help me. Thank you.

Hello chanel28, I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

Yes, please print out the emails you received from this scammer, and take them to your bank and tell them that you believe that you have given your bank details to a scammer, and received money from him - possibly stolen money, or possibly a fake check. The bank should be able to advise you what to do, and whether or not you also need to inform the police.

Dear all,
I am Mark living in Portugal and reacted as well to this job offer. I had some doubts, but I was curious and you never know. I had a first coordinator, Gregory Dowell, who passed me on to a second on : James Lockwood. A 10 day training program was proposed, including 2 tasks, supposedly paid at 50 € each. The 1st one was about local transport/hotel/points of interest info for them to compile a travelling guide. I was stupid enough to spend some time and send the task to them. At the moment I started to ask feedback on my work the 1st time, he said he would contact me. Until today (10 days later). I started questioning, identified other mails ([email protected] and [email protected]) and questioned them. I feel that they stopped contacting me because they felt I was becomming suspicious. Then I found this site and now I have full confirmation of the scam.

I would like to report this to some official body. Can somebody give me any advise on this matter?

Best regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I'm Chanel28 from Portugal too. I have the same problem. I already went to my bank and I'm going to PJ.

I think that everybody here in Portugal should do the same because we have to make justice I'm talking to me they don't go away of this.

Welcome to ScamWarners Belga46 and chanel28 .
Scammers show up every place. The difficulty with trying to report them is they are crafty and do not disclose their true names and their true locations. They jump email addresses frequently. There are jurisdictional issues to getting law enforcement to try to arrest them. The crime happens in a different jurisdiction from where the scammer lives.

Even though the amounts are significant to the victim, to international law enforcement, the amounts are small compared to pirates and terrorists or other crimes.

Belga46, will you please post the email addresses for these names; Gregory Dowell, and James Lockwood. That will help others in Portugal or other countries.

Bubbles, former Scamwarners moderator.

Rest in Peace 24 June 2015.

Gone, but never forgotten.
