This scammer has two versions of his introductory email. In both cases, there is no real employment opportunity on offer; it is a scam with the intention of stealing money from you.

Version 1

We reviewed your resume on [website] and we decided to contact you, to discuss the possibilities of having you as my wife’s (Cluadia) private English teacher in other to improve her English speaking and writing ability. I would need your services in teaching my wife the basic in English. We are currently residing in the London, UK.

My name is Jonas Mathias and I work with Hotel Russell London, United Kingdom as a Hotel Manager. My spouse Claudia Rita Mathias and works in the same Hotel with me. We have two kids (Cherry and Victoria). Cluadia can speak German language very well and hears a little of English but can’t engage in any English conversation.

This effectively means that she is limited to certain association with most people around because of her English. Cluadia is very easy going person and you can get along with her easily. Your accommodation would be fully furnished with a laptop computer connected to internet.

We shall make available a vehicle for you to use if you can drive. We would also pay your travel expenses. Our Relationship with people around us means so much to us hence we are offering this employment so that you can put in your best while teaching her. We would like to know when you can be available because we would like someone that can start that can start as soon as possible.

Your monthly is salary will be 1500GBP which would be paid to you at the end of every month and a weekly pocket money of 120GBP and this is subjected to change with respect to your approach to services in our family. You will be expected to work for about 25-30hours per week.

After discussing your employment with my wife and my Lawyer, we have decided that you match our requirements so please find the attached Contract Letter that is approved by the UK Home Office. I would like to receive the phone number of your family members as soon as possible or you call me "anytime" if they would like to speak with me.

Important : You are to adhere to the following travel instructions as we would be responsible for your travel arrangements hence your strict compliance is required so that you do not make any mistakes or have any problems on arrival here.

Information for Travel

I received approval from the UK Home Office here in London to employ you, I have attached the approved contract letter issued for your review. I need to apply now for Certificate of Eligibility (COE-UKIMG2011) as UK Home Office instructed me for our application to be quickly considered, as that is important to prove that I am sponsoring your travel down to the UK and to prove that you are eligible to take up job position in UK.

You need to sign the contract after going through it and send a scanned copy indicating your travel date (For Flight Booking which I have already paid) , to the UK Home Office in charge of your application for the Certificate of Eligibility and your traveling documents for their records and advice to you, find below the contact details of the UK Home Office and contact them as soon as you sign the contract letter:

The telephone number given, like all telephone numbers beginning with +4470, is not a normal UK telephone number; it is a redirect number, redirecting all calls to a mobile phone in another country. The email address is a free webmail address available from mail.com.
