the company is called bechtel. Here are the emails i have received from a guy name henry ford- which is weird right.? he did an interview through yahoo messenger.?

First email- Our recruitment team viewed your resume published on (Craigslist) and we are pleased with your qualifications. Your details as been forward to the senior supervisor (Mr Henry Ford) He would like to conduct an online interview with you to discuss your duties and pay scale with our company .If you are interested in this position, set up a screen name with the yahoo instant messenger(http://www.messenger.yahoo.com) and add up this screen name ([email protected]) Report online 9am 25/08/2011 for the interview. JOB DETAILS.


In this unique role, you will have the opportunity to Key datas into automated system and verifies input.We will also rely on you to Process, verify and audit invoices, expense reports, journal entries, purchase orders, etc.In addition, the following duties will also be included:

*Balances items, entries or amounts related to documents processed.

*Reconciles general ledger accounts, prepares balance sheet reconciliation and clears exception items.

*Posts ledger and general journal entries.

*Responds to routine questions related to area of responsibility.

*light travel arrangements

*Creating PowerPoint presentations

*Maintaining a petty cash account

*Writing correspondences and emails

*Being the liaison between Senior Management and clients/vendors



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

You will be enlisted for a 3 weeks paid training programme.

It's a scam, plain and simple. The check is fake, though the bank may not recognize it immediately. Once you think it is clear, they will tell you to withdraw most of the money and forward it to someone, most likely by untraceable methods such as Western Union or Moneygram. And when you do that, you have just helped the scammer to commit a crime by turning a fraudulent check into cash.

When the bank does discover the fake--which can take up to 6 months--you will be in a lot more trouble than you started. They will take the money back, add a bunch of other fees/fines, and possibly press charges for fraud, which can lead to more fines and even jail time.

You have 3 simple options if you want to stay out of trouble:
-Take the check to the police or turn it over to your bank (explaining that you have learned it was sent by a scammer) to see if they want to alert the real account owner.
-Shred the check
-Keep the check as a lesson but write FAKE on it in large letters in permanent ink (if you don't mark it fake, you could later be charged with intent to commit fraud).

Drop all contact with the scammers. Do not remain in contact with them. If they threaten you or say they are reporting you to the FBI (or even write you pretending to be FBI) just ignore them. If you haven't deposited the check, you have not committed any crime, and no agency is after you, period.

As Dorothy has explained, it's definitely a scam. The scammer is impersonating the company. The real company has information on their website about this scam: http://www.bechtel.com/jobshoax.html
Their info includes:

Bechtel periodically becomes aware of e-mail and internet hoaxes that involve solicitation of candidates for fictitious job opportunities at Bechtel. The perpetrators of these schemes pretend to be associated with Bechtel and send e-mails, post advertisements, or offer instant message interviews for job opportunities that do not really exist.

Bechtel does not send unsolicited e-mail describing open positions or offering employment, conduct interviews using instant messaging . . .

thank you for your guyes help. i also my self looked for check verify online and once i put the routing number it send it was invalid account as i also tried with my own check and mine did come up.
