Personal Assistant Scam

I received the following email this morning after answering an ad on Craigslist. I've contacted my local FBI office and this is definitely a scam; I've also reported this to Craigslist, but they don't seem to be doing anything about it. The email address I replied to is [email protected]. Note: I attached my resume in the original email I sent inquiring about employment and I'm still being asked for my name, address, country of origin and age (!!!!!!). I feel like a chump and am worried now that this character has my resume. Don't make the same mistake! Email chain follows:

Hello Lisa,

Thank you for your effort and interest in the post advertised in Craiglist. I am Allen Davidson, however i have to let you know that the responds to the post was enoumous that i already recruited enough candidates for the post but i can always secure you another job if you can actually do this and i believe this is much better than the other job and am sure you should be able to get this done. So would you consider to work as my direct assistant which places you in a more comfortable scope to operate and it would be a part-time based job but we can make it full time if you desire.

I would love to meet up with you to talk about this job but i am currently away on business because i am a business man who work for many companies and i also own some warehouse stores in many countries so presently i am here in Madrid Spain for a short business trip and due to this there will be no facial interview for now but i would try and see if you can actually get this done by accepting you to work for about two weeks and if am satisfy with your performance you can surely get the job fully because working as my assistant in my work and some personal issues could require some sorts of trust but never mind as i would be paying you for the work you would be doing during the time am trying to see if you really fit to my assistant.

I will pre-pay you in advance to do my shopping. I will also have my mails and packages forwarded to your address. If you will be unable to stay at your house to get my mails, i can have it shipped to a post office near you and then you can pick it up at your convenience. When you get my mails/packages, you are required to mail them to where i want them mailed to. You don't have to put money out of your pocket all you have to do is have packages shipped to your house and do my shopping. You are allowed to open the packages to reveal its content.

The content of the packages are computer, electronics, clothing, bibles business and personal letters. All expenses and taxes will be covered by me. You will work between 15 and 20hrs a month. How much will you charge per week? I will pay $350.00 weekly for this position. That is not a bad offer is it? I need your service because i am constantly out of town. I work in real estate and i own an Art Gallery in Madrid. I will return to USA by November so this process will be going on till i get back in November. If you don't mind i will meet up with you when i return and then we can talk about the possibility of making this long term.

No heavy packages is involved, you can do the shopping at any nearest stores. You will be shopping for Electronics and clothing's. I will provide you my personal UPS account number for Shipping. All you have to do is provide my account number to UPS and shipping charges will be applied into the account. I will provide clear set of instructions for each task i need done as well the funds to cover them.

Welcome to Scamwarners, and well done for not falling for it. It's a reshipper scam, where you would be sending on goods bought wi nth stolen credit card details, banking fake checks and sending some of the money back to him by Western Union. Leaving you out of pocket and in trouble with the law.

Good rule of thumb--if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. My spider sense started tingling about a third of the way through reading that email. Thanks for the welcome.
