Thanks for Scam Warners.
Very nearly caught me.
In Australia we have a job search website where you can post your resume. The initial latter stated:
"Hello!
I have found your resume in seek.com.au database and believe you are a perfect candidate for a part time position we offer."
So I thought it legit. I relpied and got this back:
Dear G.. M..,
We would like to consider you for the position of administrative assistant/sales support. You'll work at the convenience of your home, part-time.
THL, a luxury goods company, presents the best off-season luxury finds from the most prestigious international designers and collectibles from the rarest collections at irresistible prices.
Candidates for the job should possess excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to efficiently multi-task. Ideal candidates have a strong focus on day-to-day operational excellence, and a personal style that builds trust, and inspires loyalty. The candidate should be motivated, proactive, be able to learn and adapt quickly.
Other duties of the Administrative Assistant/Sales Support include, but are not limited to:
• Incorporating effective priorities for the virtual office function
• Administer day-to-day financial responsibilities for clients
• Reporting online daily
• Preparing brief summary reports, and weekly financial reports
Salary part-time: 1,800AUD/month, plus commission.
In the attachments you will find the agreement with a detailed job description. If you are interested in this trial period, which will last for one month, during which you will receive training, salary, and commission, please see the attached agreement. Upon successful completion of the trial period you will receive a contract to continue working with THL, have an option to change from part-time to full-time or continue working part-time.
Please read carefully the trial period agreement, complete, sign, and
forward back to us either via email or by fax +1-323-843-3874. If you have any questions please email.
Thank You,
Carolyn Sanders

I think a few have seen this this letter before. out of curiosity read the attatchment. Very well written employement agreement. BUT when I Googled the company - doesn't exist. The address for the company - 500 Frances Street, Dunedin, FL 34698
is a private residence (check Google Maps or Google Earth - 28 01'01.13"N - 82 47'08.92"W).
Nice Scam. But today I am not a sucker.
G.M.

Welcome to Scamwarners, and I'm glad you didn't fall for it. That particular scam doesn't just take you money, but it can land you in trouble for banking fake checks.

I got this exact same email sent to an email address that I haven't used in over 6 years. Seemed like an amazing job, good money and hours etc, but something didn't quite add up. I'm glad I found out it's a scam. Be wary.
