Hide Details FROM:Car Wrap TO:xxx Message flagged Monday, 21 November 2011, 18:31Message BodyDear Michael,

This email is to inform you that your car has been approved and selected for our next set of adverts. Let it be known to you that we do not advertise any form of nudity nor adult contents, alcohol or smoking content, neither do we have anything to do with politics. The vinyl that will be placed on your car is purely consumer goods content. You are required to drive 200 miles per week.

The vinyl will be installed on your car by our specialist, who will be visiting your home. You will receive a check which will cover your salary for the first week, plus the fee charged by our specialist to install the vinyl on your car. You are to cash check at your bank, deduct your one week salary, then wire balance to our specialist via western union money transfer. As soon as our specialist receives the wire from you, he will contact you, informing you that he will be coming over to install the vinyl at your home(note: you will fix a favorable time and date to meet with him)

A swift acknowledge of receipt of this email and your readiness to continue with this job will be appreciated.

Regards,
Rev. Terry.

Note ;We usually installs a GPS tracking system on the vehicle so as to verify that the advertisement is reaching the desired audience. Car wraps won't damage your car, it's just like a giant layer of vinyl film! we are just covering a portion of your car. The wrap will be removed by our specialist after the advertisement period is over.

Thanks for your interest in our program.

This is how it works:

Here’s the basic premise of the “paid to drive” concept: Car Adverts LLc. seek people — regular citizens, not professional drivers — to go about their normal routine as they usually do, only with a big advert for “Car Adverts.” plastered on your car.
The ads are typically vinyl decals, also known as “auto wraps,” that almost seem to be painted on the vehicle, and which will cover any portion of your car’s exterior surface.

What does the Company get out of this type of ad strategy? Lots of exposure and awareness. The auto wraps tend to be colorful and eye-catching and attract lots of attention. Plus, it’s a form of advertising with a captive audience, meaning people who are stuck in traffic and can’t avoid seeing the wrapped car alongside them.
This program will last for 3 months and the minimum period you can participate is 1 month

You will be compensated $200 (two hundred dollars per Week), which is essentially a “rental” payment for letting our Company use your car. We shall provide experts that would handle the advert placing on your car.

You will receive an up front payment of $200 (two hundred dollars)for accepting to carry this advert on your car.

The following information below will be needed

Full Name:
Address:(p.o box not accepted)
city:
State:
Zip code:
Phone Number(s) mobile/home
Make of car/ year:

We shall be contacting you as soon as we receive these information

Note: It is Very Easy and Simple No Application fees required!!

Regards,
Rev. Terry.

Subject: Get paid for driving your own car
Here is your chance to get paid for driving your own car. We are presently looking for individuals in your area who would be inclined to be involved in our automotive advertising program. You will be required to drive more than 200 miles a week, at this level we pay $200. Did I mention that we also reimburse you for your gasoline while you're on the job? You'll have to keep the receipts and we will repay you by the end of the month. We currently have got drivers across the nation getting paid to drive their own individual cars at this moment. Note that the adverts placed on your car have nothing to do with politics, alcohol, tobacco or adult contents. If you are considering this program email your Full Name, Phone Number, Contact Address and Automobile Model/Make to us ASAP. If we like what we see we'll e-mail you along with instructions on how to proceed. Regards, Rev. Terry Owen.

Hi Michael,

For anyone wondering what the scam is, the key sentances are -

You will receive a check which will cover your salary for the first week, plus the fee charged by our specialist to install the vinyl on your car. You are to cash check at your bank, deduct your one week salary, then wire balance to our specialist via western union money transfer.
.

It is a basic cheque cashing scam. The cheque will be a fake, but by the time your bank has discovered that (weeks or even months after it is deposited), it will be too late as you will have already sent the money to the scammers.

Please cease all further correspondence with them and if they call you the best thing to do is to either hang up or tell them that you have changed your mind.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Welcome Michael,

I have edited your post to remove your personal details. Having personal details openly posted encourages more scammers and spammers to target you, so we always encourage removing those before posting.

As Alan said, there is no wrap, and no installer. It is nothing more than a fake check scam.
As Alan recommended, just drop him.

Dear Alan Jones and Dotti, I am very grateful for your responses to my plea. I will take your advice immediately and cease further communications. Thank you both very much indeed. It's the old adage again really isn't it. "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is."
by jmejia18 Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:46 pm
i need help! the same thing happened and they said they already mailed the check to me so what should i do?
by Dotti Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:55 pm
You have not committed any crime at this point, and as long as you don't cash the check, you will be guilty of no crime. Do not cash the check. You can:

-Refuse Delivery
-Take the check to the police
-Shred the check
-Write fake on the check in PERMANENT, large print, and keep it as a souvenir.

Block the scammer's email address so he cannot reach you again. If he does, just ignore him. If he threatens you, ignore him. If you receive letters from the FBI, etc. claiming you are facing prosecution or lawsuits, ignore them. Scammers make these things up all the time. The truth is, there is nothing to charge you with, and everything to charge them with.

Im not sure what to do if they send me that check should i print the emails and the craigslist ad i found of it and take it all to the authorities???? or just send the check back?????
by vonpaso xlura Mon Dec 23, 2013 7:41 am
When you get the check, you can take it to the police along with printouts of the emails, or shred it, or write "fake" on it and frame it, but don't take it to the bank. If you take it to the police, they won't find the scammers, who are in another country. They'll find only the person who sent the check.

Don't say anything more to the scammers. If they call, don't answer; if they write increasingly angry emails, ignore them. Especially don't tell them you found out it's a scam.

Same thing happened to me! They wanted me to advertise on my car for the Full Throttle Energy Drink. They sent me two checks(which together totaled over $4k). I took everything to the police(checks, printed emails, FedEx envelope showing their name/address/ph#) and filed a police report. Like the others in this post said, do not cash the checks. Oh and I also called the banks that both cashiers checks were from and they informed me that the acct#'s on the checks were real accounts, but the remitter name on the checks did not match the name on the acct and they requested me to fax copies of the checks to them. They were very grateful that I contacted them.

I just received the check from the full throttle car wrap scam i have been reading. 2730.00 Check i have and the deal seems good but i dont know if i should deposit it, or if i can send it to some agency so it can be track and get an arresst, or trash it. Any ideas?
by Dotti Fri Apr 03, 2015 5:45 pm
Unless your goal is to get yourself arrested, cashing the check is not a good idea.

Chances of getting someone arrested are slim, as the criminals behind this scam are in another country. If the check was mailed to you, file a mail fraud report with the US postal inspector. Or, file a police report as the previous person posted.

So I got a weird feeling about an ad I responded to on craigslist about painting someone's bathroom's for 500 bucks. When she emailed me, suddenly it was bedrooms, not bathrooms. She said she was out of the country and needed it done before Aug. 15th but later in the email said before the end of the month (Aug.). Then she said I'd be compensated $500, and later said a check and payments would be mailed to my house ($410, and payments). Then she asked me to give her my mailing address, phone number, etc. Except she said no P.O. box for the mailing address, that's what made me search up her name--Patricia Elis. I'm assuming this is a scam??
by Bryon Williams Thu Aug 04, 2016 5:38 pm
Welcome to Scamwarners,

You have posted basic information. We would like to see the emails she sent you minus your personal information.

Also post the email address/phone number she used.

If she has asked you to cash the check then forward money to some other party then it is a scam for sure.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.
