Welcome to Scamwarners.
It's a scam. The pay is impossibly high for a steward on a cruise ship. And I'd be very very surprised if any cruise ship followed that route.
I see that the name Jack Mannix has been reported to us before and the email address [email protected].u suggests it's also used for a cruise ship job scam. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=24814&p=69225&hilit=Mannix#p69225
If you are dealing with a different email address, please post it. Thanks.

All I can say is the scammer has obviously never been connected to the cruise ship industry!
I may be wrong but cruise vessels do not depart from London. Without being specific, some of the text in the posted email is not correct either.

RE: The destination is always from London to France,Ireland,Belgium,Norway,Wales and USA onboard the cruise ship.
That is not quite correct either.

And the above e-mail thomsoncruises@gmail is incorrect too. And the above email is indeed most general in nature and the scammer is just a silly fool trying to trick people.
Thankyou for posting the tricksters address because it will alert others when doing an internet search.

To answer your question cashluiza <quote: Can you explain what they gain with this scam? end quote>
Simply do not send any money to the scammer. It will tell you all sorts of lies and ask for money to be sent by way of western union and/or moneygram. The money you send will supposedly be for immigration papers, visas etcetera. Because there is no job and no employment prospects, once the scammer collects your funds it's gone forever. The slippery fingered scam artist collects any money people may have sent and disappears into the sunset. Once the scammer collects any money that someone may have sent, there is no recourse available and will not be returned. People cannot acquire imaginery employment and they also lose any money the scammer asks for. These silly tossers hide behind fake names, fake profiles with there throw away email addresses which makes tracking them difficult for authorities. I can painfully tell you the police and other authorities do not place high importance on internet scams. Yes it's true, we do hear the occasional news story of scam arrests but education and reporting is better. That is why it's far better to be vigilant and support scam reporting sites such as this.
