I'm sorry to have to tell you that it is a scam.

The writing tells me it is a scam.

The phone number, which is not a real UK phone number, but is a redirect number of the kind used by scammers pretending to be in UK, proves it beyond a doubt.

Phone numbers starting with 4470 or 44070 are redirect phone numbers and are not real UK phone numbers. A legitimate UK company or branch in UK will not have one of these numbers. Any offer with one of these phone numbers will be a scam.

Hi Mr Darman. May I ask if you have confirmed that this is a scam. Have received a similar email from the same guy but this time, it is from shell-helix-oil UK.

Hi donjuan and welcome to ScamWarners.

Darman has not been back to the forum since January, so it is unlikely that he will see your post.

However, the post from our admin Dotti should give you all the confirmation that you need that this is a scam.

The 4470 is a dead give away. A company the size of Shell would not be using personal redirect numbers.

Also, Shell would not be looking for employees via email - they would have a legitimate agency looking for prospective staff for them and then they would interview them face to face.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Is is definitely a scam. As I said in the post above yours

AlanJones wrote:Also, Shell would not be looking for employees via email - they would have a legitimate agency looking for prospective staff for them and then they would interview them face to face.

Additonally, they would not be using free Yahoo email addresses - they have their own domain and would be using an email address from that.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

No officer in the Turkish government, or any other national government, would use a Yahoo address for official purposes. The scammer took a script intended for another country and adapted it for Turkey without checking what the subdivisions of Turkey are. If you get a job acceptance letter without having met anyone of the company in person, it's a scam. It's unlikely that someone working for the Turkish government would be named "Patricia Albert".

Scammer loves to use free e-mails with fake name. Just be careful.
by coinpuppy Mon Mar 03, 2014 11:40 pm
It is a scam. It may be a different "company"(they steal real names to make it seem true), or the same "comapany" with different names/emails...it is ALWAYS a scam.
Real jobs do not use forwarding #s, or free email addresses. There are many other dead giveways which you can find more about here on the site
