So I recently responded to an AD on CRAIGSLIST AUSTIN CLASSIFIEDS for a RECEPTIONIST/FILE CLERK.
Well a two days later I got a response from a Raymond Brunel & have been recieving emails every otherday now. I'm supposed to get a package in the mail here this week or next with a check. Now I read through all these post Im alot scared and feel silly for even thinking that this could even be a real job. Im scared now cause I gave him or whoever is on the other end my info, NO SS# just basic info and my address..............( IDIOT ) no Im scared, who knows for all i know this could be a terrorist using my info to create a fake ID or to send a crazy explosive or something............. After reading all these post I found one very identical to the one sent to me from Raymond Brunel. Im guessing someone has already caught on to whoever he protrays to be. Well let me get off of here and go kick my self in the ass for even thinking that this was a real job. Lesson to me.

No need to beat yourself up--you started out believing it, but you caught on before you lost any money.

You have nothing to worry about. The scammer is only after money, so he won't send anything dangerous. Just do not attempt to cash the check or money order, and if you keep it, make sure you clearly and permanently mark it fake.

Then drop the scammer. He will likely harass you, and may even threaten you (scammers love to threaten to contact the FBI, or even pretend to be the FBI) to try to get you to cash the check and send money or items--but he is the criminal, and he is only trying to coerce you into committing a crime. Ignore it.
